What’s your point? It’s still one of the most talented teams in the world, and they still have the best player in the world. The betting odds agree, they’re 5th in that regard. South American qualifying is the toughest in the world. Chile has won back-to-back Copa América’s and didn’t qualify for the World Cup. You could make a great tournament from the teams that didn’t qualify this cycle.

Argentina has more goal scoring prowess than any team in the world and it isn’t even close. Their attacking talent makes France look like the USMNT. They will always be a threat to win it with Messi, and when he calls it quits then Icardi and Dybala will step right in. They’re still Argentina man, the fact that they qualified given their recent form is a testament to just how talented they really are.

My point is that they aren't a very good team, no matter how good the players look on paper. Messi dragged them kicking and screaming into Russia. Did you even watch their qualifiers? They largely looked horrible outside of him. They needed a Messi hat trick against Ecuador in the last match day and for Chile and Colombia to not win to get in.

Anyone that bets on Argentina in Russia is throwing money away.

Germany is stacked. Their B team won the Confederations Cup. I'd think they are easily the favorite.

Is Higuain still first choice? If so R.I.P. chance of winning.

Yeahhhh I'll take Martial, Payet, Griezmann, Lemar, Mbappe, Demebele, Lacazette & Giroud over Messi & the bandits. He can't even co exist with Dybala. And Icardi might not even get to start.

Germany already fricked the world without a striker. Now they have a striker. Sorry, World.

Germany's squad is stupid stacked.

------------------ Werner ----------------------

Sané ------------- Özil -------------------Müller

------------ Kroos ----- Rudy ------------------

Hector ------ Boa ----- Hummels -------- Kimmich

----------------- Neuer --------------------------

Rest of roster: ter Stegen, Trapp, Rudiger, Draxler, Can, Reus, Gundogan, Khedira, Stindl (or Gomez), Sule, Plattenhardt ( or Ginter), Brandt

That's how crazy stacked they are. I just made a 23-man roster and had trouble finding room for Goretzka and Weigl, both of whom I'd love to see play with this team.

I think they're both better than Can, but Can is a left back in a pinch. Maybe you can drop Plattenhardt and include one of Goretzka or Weigl instead. Maybe you drop Stindl and figure that Muller can cover the striker spot if you need, or switch to a false 9

I’d love to see Weigl too, obviously but I think you’re right. depth selections clearly don’t need to be made in the midfield. I don’t know how I feel about Can but being able to slide over to LB in an emergency is probably worth it. sucks for the young kids

I’d drop Stindl if I had a gun to my head

I don't even think Stindl is that good, I think a guy like Mark Uth is way better. Stindl just seems like one of those weird picks that Jogi likes to make. He'll prob just end up bringing Mario Gomez again.

I have absolutely no clue who will start for England. If they can shore up the defense and get good goalkeeping, Kane and Ali can score on anyone in the world. Put Sterling and Wilshire on the pitch with them...it is not crazy to say England could shock the world. !966!

It's going to be so much fun when Germany eliminates England in the Quarterfinals.
