You Android types are like ISIS: You can't have devotion to one thing without hating the alternative.
Allahu Android! Allahu Android!
Don't you want to be better than ISIS?

That's a little generous considering the source.

He caught me at the right time for a mild chuckle, and believe me, I am definitely considering the source.

Damn, I had no idea I was held in such low esteem.

I think this quote's what threw me off.
quote:
“JPMorgan Chase has been pleased to collaborate on Apple Pay to create a better, faster and safer payments system, which puts the customer first, creating an exceptional customer experience for consumers and merchants. Everyone wins,” said Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO, JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Their presentation didn't do much for you either. They tried to play it as something new and never seen before. It's old, but it's really good for Android that Apple is doing it too. NFC was getting bashed pretty hard as a failure last year.

I aim to please.
Still not convinced an Android user is going to be able to use an Apple Pay terminal, but we'll see...

I can't fathom actually taking pride in what brand of smart-phone I own, or giving someone shite about their choice....

Re: Apple Pay, I believe the ability to use NFC is nothing new. It's how Apple built their method of using it. They utilize Touchprint ID. It's also not an app you have to start up or use to initiate payment. Sort've like the way Passbook pulls up my Starbucks Card when in range of a location. You just put you finger(s) over the sensor and you're good to go. With the watch you don't even have to do that much.
I am also wondering if other Android's dedicate a processor to payment info and utilize random number generation good only for that specific transaction the way that Appe has devised. Or single touch purchases within browsers where you don't even have to register an account in order to use Apple Pay to purchase using your payment/shipping info on file in a dedicated area/chip on your phone.
Lastly, I wonder if any other company has integrated NFC and payment systems with their wearable tech the way that Apple has with this same secure set up.
My guess is that some may, but most don't, and none of them harnessed Applr's position in the marketplace to make massive brick and mortar and online retailers join the party like no other handset/tech company has before.
The issue in reading these threads on my end is that a lot of folks paint with a really broad brush...but it's on both sides. You guys are leaving out tons of details from the NFC discussion and it matters in the discussion. Context matters.
Just don't get the hate...
