Nice

The guy on phone told me free install and they'd run cable to 4 rooms, one being patio tv... this is legit? No extra fees for running cable outside?

Do you have a network panel in your house or is everything located in the attic?

Those of you with gig fiber, are you still pleased? What kind of speeds should I expect to get wirelessly, patio for example..? $130/month for gig + DTV Choice is hard to pass up...

I'd basically be paying a small amount more than I am now with DTVN

It's pretty good, but don't expect to get anywhere close to a full gig in speed for most "real world" downloads. On my laptop with AC wifi (and connecting to the router via the 5GHz connection), I can usually get close to 20 MB/sec if the connection on the other end is fast and stable. If you are connecting via 2.4HGz and with N wifi, the speeds will be significantly less than that. If I direct connect to the router via ethernet, the fastest I've seen is about 32 MB/sec.

Not that this is a bad thing. I'd never get anywhere close to those numbers on Cox inet.

20?? Why so low? I'd think you should be getting at least 500 or so..?

Do you have the gig package or 100mbps?

Also, what's the easiest way to put the box in closet tucked away?

Notice I said megabytes and not megabits. So 20 would be about 160 megabits. I got gigabit installed yesterday.

There's a big difference between speedtest downloads and "real world" downloads. I can pull 750 megabits on the speed test when wired in.

Yea - I wouldn't say it's necessarily disappointing by any stretch. I did think I'd get maybe a bit more speed on real world downloads, but there's a ton of factors that go into that speed. Hell, I couldn't pull anywhere close to 20 MB before so.

I'm getting 50-100 Mbps now with cox for $75. For $5 more I can get gig and DTV for cheap af.
