I have a feeling we are looking at a 499 phone to start. But some people still think it will be 400-450.

Google is hinting that it will be cheaper than the iPhone but wont be as cheap as years past.

First 64 bit Android chip that will be heavily adopted by phone manufacturers is the snapdragon 810. Don't expect to see them until 2015.

This is why I wish they wouldn't wait till years end to release new phones. I really hope they drop a nexus 5 2014 with same size/asthetics as my G3. I love the hell out of the LG G3. Just not enough development going on in the community.

Not sure if you saw the Bump app/ mod for the G3, but that might open things up a good bit.

I agree on phones being released at end of year, but we are stuck on this cycle now especially since manufacturers want to release their phones close to the holidays.

Looks like the Nexus 9 will be $399- this is from multiple rumors that I have seen.

That would put it in line with the Fire 8.9 tablet. I could handle that price.

Yeah. Was over on xda and saw it. I have a tmobile 851 that I bought on ebay and it comes unlocked. I'm sim unlocked on att and rooted, but limited on roms. This should open up development now. I'm excited. The G3 is a bad arse device and is about to get even better.

Google will unveil a Nexus smartphone this month, The Wall Street Journal has learned from three people familiar with the matter, although actual launch details have not been revealed. While it didn’t say the handset will be sold as the Nexus 6, the publication confirmed its internal code name, “Shamu” after a killer whale, adding that the handset will have a 5.9-inch high-resolution display and will be sold under the Nexus brand.

More recently, a report from Bright Side of News states that Google will put the Nexus 9 up for pre-order on 15 October with it set to go on sale 3 November. And if we see the Nexus 9 on Wednesday, we also expect to see the Nexus 6/X on Wednesday.

youre sure?

Although tech sites have been referring to the new Nexus smartphone 2014 as the Nexus 6, it's more likely that Google will call it the Nexus X or Nexus 5 2014. It didn't change the name of the Nexus 7 with its follow-up model, plus the replicants in Blade Runner go by the name Nexus 6.

He is talking about a 5 inch nexus phone and you quoted a passage that says they might call the 5.9 inch shamu the nexus 5 2014.

It's cute and clever.

The ad is pretty straight forward. Someone's phone is ringing, so the little Android characters check their phones to see whose it is. After several small phones are checked, the littlest droid whips out the Nexus 6, which is gigantic. I assume Google's having a little fun embracing how big this phone is.

If the latest rumor on the matter is to be believed, tomorrow we'll be treated to the official announcement of both the HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet as well as the Nexus 6 phablet by Motorola. But don't expect a big event or anything like that - they'll apparently be introduced via a blog post by Google.
