Oh Lord. I guess that's tied into your Bosch?
forgot my dishwasher talks to me on my phone
Posted on 3/3/26 at 3:45 pm to CAD703X
HA has a home connect (bosch) integration
Posted on 3/3/26 at 4:05 pm to bluebarracuda
That's the one.
Just because I CAN put that on the dash doesn't mean I will. I wonder if they support the delonghi coffee machine I have?

With HA, when in doubt, the answer is yes

Update:
spun up a virtualbox, installed HA on it and working on some of the 'cards' now.
hardware will be a mini-pc and probably a 43" tv but i am probably going to waive off on it being a touchscreen over some type of wireless mouse/remote/keyboard device that i can keep under the bar. just too much money for a touchscreen that size when this is a MLH that may or may not last for the longterm.
HA has sucked in alot of my crap without me doing anything; its found:
- hue hub
- sonosnet
- x-sense hub
- reolink system
- rachio
looks like chatgpt is going to try & help me harden the 'local control' that i lost during the last WAN outages; just because something says its working locally doesn't mean its going to work when your internet goes down unless you tweak a few settings first.
i'll have to add:
- wifi dehumidifier
- roborock vacuum
- honeywell thermostat
- meross garage door opener
- wifi smart plugs (chinese apps and some native amazon-based)
- eufy door locks
- bosch dishwasher
- delonghi coffee machine
- yet-to-be-purchased tempest weather hardware
- a couple of tvs
its honestly stupid how many smart devices i have ONCE AGAIN after purging all my hubitat and three zillion zwave devices a couple of houses ago.
i guess its time i consolidated everything and since Wink, Smartthings, Vera and Hubitat are no longer viable options, i'll finally give HA a shot at doing it.
my wife will be out of town for a few days mid-month so good opportunity since i'm taking those days off work to dig in.
now i'm just left with a display..should i just go with a cheap $150 43" LG/Samsung/TCL/random-chinese brand?
would love to go with a 43" OLED but those are like $800 and there is no guarantee this is going to have sticking power so don't really want to spend that much on another TV.

If these are tuya based, you can host them locally through HA with Tuya Local integration
Also shame you purged your zwave devices. Zigbee/Zwave is incredible with HA

i know. i left the new owner my hubitat as well. i had 2 garage doors using 2 zwave+ controllers and my spreadsheet was close to 500 devices that i gave him as well as turned over my hubitat account. a shitton of zwave, zigbee, wifi, but almost all was 'isntalled' like door sensors, lightswitches, etc. so didn't really want to rip it all out and it seemed like a nice gift for him. also had a couple of extra hue hubs thanks to that hue clearance insanity at home depot back then
he was moving in while we were moving out so i sat at the island with him and helped convert all my accounts to him
i also had major burnout at the time and didn't expect to get this far back in but here i am..5 years later...
eta off to research tuya...i know i've seen that before on some of the apps i have on my phone.

What’s happened with hubitat? I thought they had a local API that was perfect for home assistant I was thinking about buying one just as a z-wave+zigbee bridge.
Why get rid of a zillion z-wave devices? That’s still the absolute pinnacle of smart home.

to answer your question; most zigbee & zwave were installed in lightswitches, door & window sensors, motion detectors, etc. and it didn't really make sense to rip all that out when i was planning to start over w/ zwave+.

Gotcha. Ya with tuya just make sure you grab your keys within the 7-30 day window you have access to them after starting your dev account or else you’re going to need another burner email and maybe a different phone.

Yup the tuya integration is cloud, but there is a “local tuya” in the community store that lets you pull your device keys from the dev portal and control via local api.

Update: things are coming together much faster than I anticipated. Now I'm leaning towards a touchscreen again. Can't make up my mind but that feels more elegant. Having to use and keep track of an additional device seems clunky.
The bad: having fits getting my eufy locks in here; I would have thought that would have been one of the easiest integrations. The roborock spammed my HA interface with a zillion updates while it vacuumed then the integration died and won't come back. Home connect refuses to authenticate and I wasted way too much time on that for my dishwasher status which I'll probably never even use.
Most other things are integrating well and I can't believe I didn't do this before. Pulled the plug on the Internet and Sonos, reolink and hue just kept humming along. Very nice the local control integration for those things actually works now.
Dashboard is a breeze so far. The YAML is very easy to work with.
There's a community freaking add on to add a music visualizer to my Sonos!
I'm sold!
shite I guess this dumb thing might just happen. I'm getting pretty excited.

Bump; i've decided i'm at v1.0 for the dashboard. everything is still prototyped on my test pc in virtualbox and haven't purchased the panel or mini-PC yet. wife will be out of town starting saturday
so she can't get pissed when i stick a giant tv behind the bar until she's back.
claude has done a great job on the yaml and getting it very close to the original prototype. i had an argument with him about the touchscreen and he really hates that idea so i'm going with that $20 logitech 'air mouse' instead. at worst, i've saved a bunch of money if the WAF test fails and i have to take it down and move it to my office.
anyway, here's where we are: i haven't plugged in all the smart controls or purchased the weather station yet so those aren't complete and i'm hooking up all 5 cameras this weekend so i'll be swapping those out as well.

Now time to use Music Assistant to play that Plex library of yours
Posted on 3/10/26 at 11:16 pm to bluebarracuda
I've got a sweet music visualization dashboard when you click the "full screen" button.
Gave up on eufy locks for the moment and the stupid home connect dishwasher but tuya and almost everything else including my dehumidifier in the crawl space flowed right in. It's magic.
