My friend texted me about that earlier this season. Wiki says he currently lives here. I had never heard anything about it. I'll definitely keep an eye out for him. Can't imagine he's a big skier.

Chris Fowler has a place in Breck. I've seen him a few times around town over the years.

TBar? It's a good spot. Stopped in for lunch a few times for reasonable prices. Lotta locals.

Slopeside also a great spot on the slopes.

Got my first turns of the season at Copper Sunday on the way back from Utah. Snow was good and it was surprisingly empty all things considered

Heading to Rocky Mountain National Park Saturday with topo maps to scout some backcountry lines and hopefully find something to ride down after skinning up then maybe resort Sunday

Did you get a season pass out there at Steamboat? I had a friend recently come through Boulder moving there for a nursing contract. She said passes were like 1400 for steamboat. She's also hot so maybe I can put her in touch with you since she doesn't know anyone. I have 6 days there and definitely want to use some of those for winter wonder grass, and the others for a good pow weekday sesh

Got a merchant pass so work is helping pay for it. Paid half up front. Also splurged on Epic pass because I can't just ski one mountain.

Did hot nurse get a pass? We should ski. Either way, should be in touch.

So stoked for Wondergrass. Hit me up if ya need a place to stay for some weekday pow days. Got plenty of couch space in our garage man-cave (heated).

Lemme know how RMNP goes.

Upgrading my goggles this year!

Also for anyone that really loves listening to music on the mountain. I highly.... highly recommend getting a pair of Chips by Outdoor Tech. LINK
I bought a set last year and it was awesome.

Gondola at Heavenly was shut down for high winds today. My 2 day snowboarding excursion cut down to 1.

Anyone ever skied Mt. Norquay in Banff? It's not nearly as big as the other two, but it's around $50 USD per day...which is

Looking for info about the mountain from someone who has skied it.

Thinking of heading to Utah for a trip next month. What's the recommended resort for best bang for buck? I'm a lower intermediate level snowboarder. I can make it down most any terrain, just not very skillfully. I've been to Heavenly, Breck, and Keystone.

Also, advice on best place to stay (prob look for an airbnb style thing) and whether it makes sense to rent car or not

I use VRBO supplemented with Tripadvisor ratings almost exclusively when finding ski lodging. We typically travel in a group of 6-10. So, we are usually looking for a larger sized condo (preferably with a hottub). However, they basically have condos listed at all price ranges in most of the property locations.

Check it out for yourself. I usually end up enjoying the hunt for the best place to stay almost as much as the actual trip.

Man... I really like the higher end goggles. You can get some of the best on the market for $150-175. I personally think it makes a huge difference. But I'll try to help you out based on what you asked for.....

Anon, Oakley, and Smith are premier brands.
After looking through the list on the-house.com, you can't really go wrong with what they have listed. A lot of it is a combination of personal taste in look and getting the right lens.
I tend to prefer a medium lens. Full sun and Full cloud lenses are not very versatile, and if you are only going to buy one pair of goggles/one lens, you definitely want it to be an all around lens.

After saying that, there are also improvements in material, construction, technology, and light filtering. Hence, the justified increase in price.
If I were you, I would get the most expensive original priced lens they have that met my color and lens light needs.
From the options available, I'd go with the Oakley Canopy or Anon Hawkeye.

Side note: Don't buy "Asian fit" unless you are Asian.

I got a pair of Electric EG3 from Amazon last year for $70 and I really liked them. The previous trip I had borrowed a friend's Smith I/OX and I preferred the Electrics. Looks like the current price is $87

Take a look at Backcountry.com and Evo.com sales pages. Interchangeable lenses is a plus too, at least have a lens for bluebird days and a lens for flat/low light days. Flat light lenses are very advantageous to have for storm skiing.

ETA: I have Spy Platoon goggles with a few lenses.

Getting 10-15" at sea level today and tonight. Probably more at the top. Should be awesome skiing this weekend.
