Yeah, thinking the Cascades in Wash/Oregon are getting it pretty well too. Need it this year, the last two sucked. Our ski area had to close early last season.

Decided to forget about Norquay and will now buy tri-area tickets. Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, and Norquay.

Can anyone talk me out of spending all three days at Sunshine?
It seems that I might enjoy day three the most after learning some of the terrain, but DAMN Lake Louise looks special!! (also a bit further from Banff)

Has ANYONE skied near the area?

SUNSHINE VILLAGE

LAKE LOUISE

Anyone have recommendations for a trip for 4 young guys around Mardi Gras?

I'm probably the most experienced of the 4, but consider myself intermediate at best. We'll mainly stick to blues, but every now and then try out some blacks.

Skiing is obviously the number one draw, but we're also looking for decent town and nightlife.

We've all been to Breck recently. And I've been to Whistler and Snowbird recently, and a few others when I was younger that I can't quite recall.

I'd love to go back to Whistler, but would also like to try something new. Was thinking maybe Jackson Hole.

So I have been looking at the smith squads, but not sure what lenses I should get. I like the idea that they're interchangeable. I could probably borrow an extra pair for low light situations until I bought a second lens. If you could only buy one color lens to cover both situations what color would it be?

Heading to A Basin next week with 5 close friends for the first time but staying in Denver at an AirBnB

. Would like to take my significant other out one night for a date. Any recommendations of good places to eat/drink?

My favorite date spot is Colt & Gray, Fruition, Guard and Grace, Barolo Grill

Good places to drink: South Broadway bars, River North (called RINO), and my favorite spot in Denver is Terminal Bar

Green Russell, Mizuna, Nocturne, Angelo's, Sushi Den or Izakaya Den, are a few other good spots. Really, there's tons in Denver you can't go wrong with. Check out Westword Magazine's website for Denver restaurant/date suggestions.

The forecast looks really good going forward. I can't say what's gonna be open but with this pattern more and more will be opening as we near Christmas. Chance for snow almost every day.

It will be more than it is now, but wouldn't count on 100% open.

Steamboat isn't the steepest mountain, so snow holds well. I've ducked in some trees and the base was non-existent earlier this week. I'm down in Denver today (frick me right?) so I can't comment on the snow and what it looks like right now, but my friends have said it's really good. It's deeeeeeep in some wind loaded spots and can only imagine that the top of the mountain has more snow than what I've been skiing.

I'll be happy to keep ya posted on when I return tomorrow. I'll be out skiing the Boat almost everyday.

I'm liking what I am seeing on the snow stakes and what I am reading from the fine folks over at OpenSnow

I am going to ride Eldora again this weekend. Waiting to make the trips to better resorts once more terrain opens. What pass(es) you rocking this year?

Steamboat and Epic.

I also am lucky enough to have access to some "gold" passes that should get me a few good trips to some other resorts from work. Hopefully Big Sky/Bridger to see my brother Bozeman. Then gonna try and ski some of the LCC resorts in SLC when I go to ski Park City sometime.

And can't speak for the ski village but I was in Jackson Hole over the summer. It did not strike me as a night life kind of town...unless you like saloons.
Lake Tahoe?

Or, what about Snowmass Village? I stayed there as well this summer, and they do have some built in nightlife on the mountain.

Edit: Winter Park has all the blues and blue/blacks you'd want. They say the night life is below average, but shite if a place sells beer that's about all I need. Skied WP twice.

Where exactly? I've got some days at Aleyska and it looks doable to fly into anchorage and drive over for a respectable price

Definitely will be driving. My twin brother lived in PC past two winters so still got some places to crash with his friends too.

That's kinda what I figured.

I know Whistler has a pretty good night life, but kinda wanted to try somewhere new.

Anyone been to Park City? Steamboat? Lake Tahoe?
