Gotta kill time between Orlando and Palm Beach between weekends. Want to rent a place for us to work from…but cool enough to make a vacation out of it for our son. Found a couple spots, but have to pull the trigger nowish.

Really wanted something in a clear spring or walking distance to one, but those all looked north of Orlando.

Could get something near blue heron bridge in riviera beach if you are into diving / snorkeling.

Swimming even in miami/ key west right now pretty much requires a wet suit. Is that ok?

If you are just talking about for a couple of days anywhere within walking distance to the beach and/or shopping area should be solid enough for your son to have a good time.

We found a great air b&b in Ocala, which was near several springs. It was in horse country

We’ve gone to Salt Springs in Ocala a few times and it’s pretty dope. We got an Airbnb on a lake about 30 minutes from it that was really cool one of the times. Could have for sure spent a week there.

We stayed in this place 2 years ago and it was great. The water is clear and warm all the time. There other homes for rent on this river which is not too far from Tampa. Definitely a hidden gem in Florida for winter.

Springs come out of the ground at 68* year round, that rental says 72* which I’m fairly certain is not correct but needless to say close enough. 68-72 is very cold for winter swimming if it’s not hot outside. Now if you catch a day that’s high 70s and sunny it may be decent. As an example, a lot of people don’t like to swim in a swimming pool until it’s in the mid 80s. The springs around my house in the panhandle make my youngest kids very cold after an hour or 2 even in the summer.

I don’t think it’s a terrible idea by any means I’m just trying to help you out in realistic expectations.
