Coming to report back some highlights:
Dragonfly didn’t disappoint for lunch. Went twice, once for a proper lunch and second time to refuel with small bites after walking the town.
Had Red and White for dinner one night. Had a fun whipped ricotta and strawberry compote app followed by one of the best margarita pizzas I’ve had in a long time.
Wrapped up the trip with dinner at Camelia Cafe and thoroughly enjoyed it. Every local we spoke to said it was their top three restaurants and it lived up to the hype.
Shopping was great as well. Picked up some records and books along the way plus a few items for the house at one of the many antique stores. Great trip overall. Perfect for a short getaway from NOLA.

Wife and I are here now. Staying in the Spa building. Super clean. Had tenderloin steak and several Bourbon-Ades (like an old fashioned, but with muddled strawberries) at the Bayside Grill at the resort. It was all phenomenal. Probably going to check out the Camellia Cafe tonight now that I found this thread.
ETA: My wife lives traveling, and I hate it. She thought this would be a good compromise, since it's not a long drive at all. Definitely worth it, and can't wait to come back and bring our son. He'll love the pool, splash pad, and beach.

Just moved to Fairhope from Mobile over 2 months ago so I'll add a few recs for anyone heading this way in the coming weeks. I live on the Scenic highway just south of the pier where you turn south off Fairhope Ave heading to Point Clear.
Restaurants/bars in no particular order other than some of my favorites:
Fairhope Brewery - Really nice beer selection. If you're hungry you may want to eat beforehand or call ahead to see if they have a food truck outside which they may or may not at any given time. Highly recommend going on a Thursday night when they have trivia which is fun.
Tamara's - Best happy hour hands down in the area every day from 3 PM to 6 PM. $5 appetizers which are very good and $2 beers and $3 glasses of wine and $5 mixed drinks. My girlfriend and I usually split 3 apps and along with drinks get out of their for $40. Highly recommend the Boom Boom shrimp and Tuna dip and/or Spinach tuna dip apps. Regular menu is solid as well. Best value food/drink for the price in town in my humble opinion
Southwood Kitchen - Restaurant is actually just off Hwy 98 in Daphne about 6 miles north of Fairhope. Very good but a little pricey
Jessie's in Magnolia Springs - My girlfriend's favorite restaurant (just ahead of Southwood). Can be a bit pricey but very good.
Julywns (sp?) - Oldest restaurant in Fairhope and one of the oldest in the entire state. Best breakfast (especially for the price) in Fairhope. Haven't eaten anything other than breakfast here so can't comment on anything else here
Thyme on Section - good lunch spot especially for their burger which is really good.
Gambinos - Unspectacular Italian food but the bar area is a fun atmosphere with good service and decent Italian food.
Sunset Grille at Flypoint Marina - Really nice laid back setting on the marina/bay. Great setting when the weather is nice. Drinks are really expensive though and food is solid not great.
Camelia Cafe - Haven't actually been here yet but hear very good things. Kinda pricey
Dragonfly - Cool and unique solid food options.
Locals at the Alley - Use to be Pinzones which was one of our favorite places to grab a pizza and drinks. Ate here recently and the pasta dish we got was decent not great. The setting in the Alley is pretty cool though. Great place to sit outdoors when the weather is nice.
R Bistros - Haven't been yet but have heard good things.
Ravenite - Solid pizza joint
Cactus Cantina - New location of a limited chain right next to Tamara's on Section St. Decent mexican/southwestern food. Good margaritas.
Agave - Relatively new place near the intersection of Hwy 98 and Fairhope Ave in Fairhope. The best mexican restaurant in the area in my humble opinion
Bone & Barrel - Run of the mill bar food but one of the better bars in town and one of the only decent places in town to catch live music.
Panini Pete's - Decent sandwich place for lunch with a nice courtyard seating area. Nice place to grab a sandwich when the weather is nice.
Another Broken Egg - Solid breakfast and very good drinks but WAY overpriced for what you get. No different than the other chain locations of this chain. Good if you don't mind overpaying.
McSharry's - Fun little Irish pub. Decent bar food and fun place to knock down some cold ones and watch a game.
The Grand Hotel golf courses are solid and really fun courses to play. One of my best friends is a member so I'm usually able to get a decent rate as a guest of his. If you're staying at the Grand Hotel and really enjoy walking/running I'd suggest heading north along the bay. Same goes for biking.
Edit: If you're not dead set on staying at the Grand Hotel and just want to check out downtown Fairhope I'd suggest staying at the Hampton Inn. It's easy walking distance to a lot of the aforementioned restaurants and bars and a little more than a half mile walk to the pier.
