Don't expect to see many Englishmen in London.

My mom is the only British National left in the area she lives in outside of London in Virginia Water. All the neighboring houses are owned by Russians, Arabs and Chinese.

You could spend a week in London alone, but I would recommend getting out into the country of England for the best experience

I am absolutely in love with the English countryside, and I have only seen it in movies and pictures. I can only imagine what it would be like to see it in person. Put me in the middle of the English countryside in a cozy cottage with rolling hills all around me and I would be a very happy man!

Which base? I spent two summers (age 13 and 15) at RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell areas. That was back in the mid to late 90s.

My wife was raised there and her family lived there in the Manchester area until 2015, so we were always visiting.

We both moved back there together after I graduated from grad-school and got a job and we lived in Brentford for 2 years.

We plan on moving back at some point as we absolutely loved it.

Unless she was old that really isn't a thing over there now.

When my company has sales meetings here in Phoenix (or I should say used to before covid) I'm not lying, I could understand the sales people from Mexico, The Netherlands and even Japan better than the one from Scotland.

I really enjoyed my visit to London.

Not better than here, but I liked it.

Been to London in 2000 and 2019, what a difference almost 20 yrs makes. Didn't like it, too crowded. British museum is cool, but if you've seen the Louvre, skip it. Also spent other times exploring west England, Cotswolds, and Wales. Highly recommend. Get a car, go driving, the locals are cool as shite. Loved driving a little stick shift on those narrow arse curvy roads. Channeled my inner Niki Lauda, scared the wife to death.
