Going to be almost impossible to rent something decent inside loop for 1500. Expect to pay closer to the top range if you want quality and more than 600sqft.

Geaux to HAR.com and look at the options. This is the data base for Houston's MLS. You can search for properties using
criteria that interest you. Focus on # of bedrooms, baths and garages you want plus prices. Good luck. Hope this helps.
