Will be in Austin week after next. Any suggestions on where to go, eat there?

There's a ton to do, we're getting ready to move down there and have been a bunch in the last couple of months. Any other specifics (things you do/dont like to eat and do)?

You're going to the BBQ and TexMex capital of the world and you want Italian?

Terry Blacks for BBQ. Qi for Asian fusion.

I'm from Louisiana, I can get great BBQ at a gas station here. Love Italian.

Dai Due
Odd Duck
Go to Here Nor There for a drink, you have to download an app and make a reservation (speakeasy), but it's worth it.

I don't think I've ever eaten Italian in Austin so I can't help you there, but if you like speakeasy type places also check out Garage (need a reservation). Zanzibar is a cool Tiki type place on a rooftop downtown as well.

Red Ash Italia, happy hour is a great way to try a bunch of different dishes and they have a lot but don't be late. There's usually a line waiting for them to open. Regular dinner is fantastic too.

I’m from Louisiana too and this is the dumbest fricking statement on BBQ I’ve ever seen on this board.

Reminds me of the quote from Henry Winkler in Parks and Rec:
“This is the best Italian meal I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve been to DALLAS”
