Go to Bastogne in December. Sell it as a Christmas market trip. Once you cross out of Champagne into Bastogne, you get the weather problem. Visibility is fine, until it's to the hood of your car. Stand in Jack's wood with a slow snowfall. You feel it.

Visit the American cemeteries for WWI too. 3 hours from Paris, but beautiful. Beware, there are not places to get gas unattended out that far.

We did a France trip in ‘22. Rented a car and drove the WWI battlefields before Normandy.

I know most folks here focus on American battles, understandably so. But walking the trenches of the Somme is something I’ll never forget. Best preserved WWI trenches and the museum is fantastic.

More British casualties in the first day of the Somme than all allied casualties at DDay + the next 3 weeks combined. Simply incredible

Montezuma was a ruler from Mexico is the revenge is you shitting yourself. Charlemagne was a ruler born in France and died in France (so from France) and same thing the revenge is me shitting myself from drinking the water, which is what the whole thread is about.

Got it my second day in Provence. Pretty sure I got it from Beef Tartare. Anyway I suffered for a day - lots of water and Imodium. That night I started taking Cipro (which I always take on international trips). Day 2 I was 80%, Day 3 I was back to normall.

I was trying to understand the thread topic. As I learned more about it, I realized you are an idiot. And I should have kept quiet.

That’s my fault. But in my defense, I didn’t realize how dumb you are until I began to question.

Cipro

I should look into having it on me. Didn't think of that. Usually take Pepto tablets with me.

The wife needed quite a bit of it after a bad choice in Peru.

But also a doctor visit to the hotel, ride to hospital, a private room with two beds, iv drip and Cipro was only $350. That was probably the gringo rate too

I needed Sudafed (the good kind) in Ireland, and couldn’t find any. But Guinness fixed about anything. The beer in France sucks, but all the yeast in a good Trappist from Belgium may settle the stomach, after a little extra gas!

You should probably be able to buy an antibiotic like Cipro over the counter there. Good luck with it. I lost 14 lbs in two weeks and the flight home was awful but I didn't know what to do. You know now.
