I've done Sarasota, Chicago, NYC, soon to do Sitka Alaska. Depends what you're looking for, but really can't go wrong in a lot of spots. The PNW is a very introverted place where you get solo trips as a norm for hiking, camping, floating, etc.

Had a co-worker that went to Bangkok by himself. While he was gone everyone in the department was saying he was going after the "ladyboys". He is weird so I had to agree..

I've done Nashville, Tampa, and Hood River alone. All are very different but you can't go wrong with any of them

Coincidentally getting ready to visit both within 2 weeks. Chicago is my favorite b/c it's just cleaner and less hectic. I'd rather live in NY b/c I could never get board. I'm not a city person but I'd welcome the culture shock.

Stay in the Rino area. There are lots of small bars, brew pubs. Lots of murals and artsy places if you like that. (I do.) It's an area that has recently undergone much gentrification. It's the hip spot in Denver now. It's also very near the Blue Moon Brewery. See if the Rockies are in town.
