Yup, had a friend who worked for Universal a few years back. Said the first two weeks of November and December are their slowest times of the year and the best to go.

We took the family to Disney last year the week after Thanksgiving. Crowds were non-existent until noon and the weather was a tad cool. Going to any of the parks after an extended school holiday should be less crowded than normal. I'll take any advantage I can get to not deal with a mass of people.

If you stay on property use the extra hour and get in line at Ministry of Magic. Single rider lines are the way to go if kids are old enough. It was kind of pointless to do mobile ordering then get to restaurant and have to wait in long line for table then can’t submit your order until have a table number. Yoshi ride and dragon racer’s alley not worth the wait.

See, I've heard complete opposite. Risk of ride breaking due to the shitty sensors they use and you sitting and wasting away time instead of hitting all the other stuff while you can and then doing Ministry like 6-7pm.

Maybe so. We went there first and were close to the front by the time ride opened, just our experience. My 9 year old couldn’t do single rider so that slowed us down a lot. I know the wait was 3.5 + hours later but not sure about that late in day.
If going soon I would say you can get the app and check wait times at various times during day before you go.

Just went this past Tuesday and this park is so fricking awesome. We got in about 1015 am it opened at 10 am. We had fast passes and the longest wait we had was maybe 20 mins. Just the wife and I so we hit every ride and just looked at how amazing this was. Our favorite ride was the Monster ride with all the Universal creatures headed up by Frankenstein and Dracula but it had everyone in it including werewolf and the creature from the black lagoon. The Animatronics looked and acted just like real people and the creatures were amazing. Harry Potter land was awesome set in 1920's Paris it looked very much like Paris too. Mario and Donkey Kong world felt like you were in the game. Only ride that was having problems while we were there was Mario cart and we didn't want to wait. How to train your Dragon world was so cool too. The show there was really good and the animatronic Dragons were unbelievable.
You can tell this park was so above and beyond anything out here in Orlando. The stardust roller coaster was top notch with speed and drops and twist. Visually the park was stunning during the day and at night. Let's just say we will be going back at the beginning of next year. My suggestion is definitely pick a time in the year where kids aren't out of school and go during the week. Btw I don't work for Universal either. Lol. We just really enjoyed something new and all the new technology.

Can't wait to go. Kid keeps telling me he can't wait to meet Toothless.
Planning on going next Monday, weather will be absolutely perfect. Staying at Royal Pacific, so plan on getting to park like 830 for 9am early admission.

We went 2 days before Thanksgiving and rode every major ride in the park WITHOUT an Express Pass.
I don't understand the hype around the Harry Potter ride in Epic. The queue far surpassed the ride. You felt like you were on the set they used for the movie.
When we go back to Epic, we will be skipping MoM. Not worth the wait.
Stardust racers was EPIC! Rode that thing 4 times - best of those 4 was at night.

Agree, it's crazy it gets up to a 4-5 hour wait even on slow days. Not worth it.

Which order did you do things in?
Earlier, it was recommended to hit Stardust First. Thinking of doing that, then Isle of Berk, followed by Nintendo, and Monsters... MOM for last and try to jump on the ride after 6pm when its much less crowded.

I wouldn't count of that, the line regularly gets closed early for the night when it gets too long to keep letting people in line before closing.
When you go in there will probably be signs that say MoM will close early for the night, that is what that means, the line will close to people when the capacity is too big for time left.

Park closes at 10pm... everything I am seeing out there says to go later in the day
Says two best times to go are 12-2 or after 6.

Do ministry or donkey Kong first, if you are lucky they will let you in during early admission, I had a walk on. Then head to isle of burk. Stardust and monsters generally don’t have super long lines at any time of the day.

12-2 is when the wait dropped when we went in October on a “slow day” and then shot back up later in the day and then they closed the line at around 8.

Good to know that is accurate.

Used early entry to do both sides of Stardust Racers then headed to Dark Universe to ride Curse of the werewolf.
From there its a blur. Didn't have an agenda. Just went from land to land to see the sights and ride everything.
The park is compact enough where its not hard to get from one side to another quickly.
You do need to stay and see each land at night!

Quick update. Ended up going to Epic on Monday using early entry since we stayed at Royal Pacific.
Got there around 815 and were easily some of the first people in. Went to Stardust first, which of course, was in a delay... So had to wait 15 min. After that, ran over to Monsters and jumped on Unleashed, which was also in a delay, and then Curse of Werewolf after that. Did Child swap on both of those so it took a bit longer. With the 2 delays and child swap, we were able to knock out those three before open. Could have gotten one more big one out if not for the delays.
All in all, we got to do most everything we wanted without Express, but agree, would have made things a lot easier... But def not worth the $1200 it would have cost. Displayed wait time were way off. After hours of closure, we jumped on Battle at 3pm with a displayed wait of 150m and it only took 90m.
Highlight of the day was Toothless Meet and Greet... What a great experience for the kid.
Lowlight of the day was the food poisoning from Isle of Berk
Nice park, but 100% enjoy Islands/Universal better. Doubt we will go back unless they include it in park hopper and do Express for staying on property.

Nice glad you had a great time and sounds like you got a low attendance day. You made out like a bandit with Ministry being that short of a wait.
Yeah it definitely needs more.

Yeah, like I said earlier in the thread, always plan trips there during the handful of downtimes in the fall/spring.
I'm sure I'll get ripped for this, but in retorspect, was not a fan of Mario World... it was sensory overload. Way too much going on in way too small of a space.
Not epic, but I was surprised how far along they were with the deconstructions of Rip Rocket at universal. The entire coaster and platform were already gone. Anxious to see if its going to be a Fast and Furuious ride like they are doing out in Cali or the rumored Ghostbusters ride.
