I’m going soon for the first time, largely due to recommendations on this board. Where should I snorkel?

Any other must sees or good restaurants? Staying in Cruz Bay.

Thanks

ETA: Went to Maho Bay today. Ended up in a group of 4 turtles and saw some great coral scenes. Thanks everyone for the info

Trunk bay is great early in the morning before the crowd, lots of sea turtles. Watermelon Kay is really nice but the current is super strong. Definitely recommend flippers and a life jacket for that one. The lobster roll restaurant is really good and you could feed the sugar birds there.

Our last visit, we tended to mess around in the morning, eat lunch somewhere in town, head back to the house and gear up, then find a beach. It was tough sometimes finding a parking spot, but the crowds thinned out FAST once you got settled.

We went once in the morning and it’s nice but quickly turns to chaos. Just our experience.

I didn't venture out far enough but I've heard Trunk & Maho were great snorkeling spots.

We didn't explore the island as much as I would have liked but we ate at High Tide one evening and I enjoyed it.

Maho or Francis for guaranteed turtle sightings. Other than that, they are all pretty good.

Maho Bay for sure. Guaranteed turtles. Saw sting rays and octopus as well as a number of fish. That's a must for us when we go.

Yep. We snorkeled with sea turtles, lemon sharks, rays, and all kinds of colorful fish at Maho. It was one of our favorite beaches. Trunk is beautiful, but stayed pretty crowded. Little Cinnamon Bay Beach is a low-key spot that not many go to. You walk to the end of Cinnamon Bay beach, go over some rocks and then you pretty much have the whole beach to yourself. One day it was only my wife and I there. There was once a plane crash right off the shore and you can see part of the prop of the plane. Not all it was hyped up to be from the research I did online, but good snorkeling there too.

Maho was one of our favorites too. We hired a band to come play on the back of our boat there and everyone floated up on whatever to come watch.

Haulover Bay was awesome for snorkeling. It’s a rock beach with beautiful coral and great fish sighting. We went early and had the place to ourselves.

Glad you're having a great time. If you're a diver book with Low Key Watersports.
