Booked a trip to patagonia to hike the w trek in January with g adventures. Has anyone been and have any tips or stories. This is one of my ultimate bucket list trips. It is a pain in the arse getting down there and back.

I was planning a trip a few years ago but bailed on it when Covid hit. I don't remember all the details but I decided against hiking the full W and instead just spend a full day exploring Torres del Paine park and another doing a day hike there. I wanted to also spend three days in El Chaltan on the Argentina side. Seems like a cool little town with lots of great hikes nearby. In between I was going to do a boat tour out of Puerto Natales to the fjords and Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers. And I would have visited the famous Perrito Moreno Glacier as well.

I have also hiked at El Chalten and seen the Perito Moreno Glacier, and both of those are great.
On the Chilean side, I've never been further south than the Lake District, which is beautiful, but not really a hiking destination.
I'd love to hike the W if I ever get a chance.

Tips: food is great, seek out local restaurants and get the seafood, incredibly fresh. Pack less clothes than you think you need. Drink the glacier water on hikes, it’s pure. Most people speak English. Hotel on the right side of the the W is really really nice, bar is great with fresh drinks and good food.
You will run into some snobby Europeans, just ignore them.
Enjoy
