Anyone know how I can get a passport for a teenager in less than a week?

If you live near an actual customs office you can get a same day passport issued. I believe you need proof of international traveling within 2 weeks but sounds like you would.

Granted this is in a normal world. Not sure about Covid.

My wife got one in New Orleans in about 90 minutes.

I got one in a couple hours in NOLA as well. But it'll cost you in expedite fees. You have to bring proof that you're traveling soon and require an expedited one. But I have no idea what those offices are doing during COVID.

Real question here- why? What happened?

And Passport center is the only option. Looks like it's only 72 hours before travel + you pay expedited fees, but you can make an appointment up to two weeks before travel.
New Orleans Passport Center

Of course you can....where do you live?

People often forget that there is a small office in Hot Springs if you are closer than New Orleans

Yes. Easily.

Another option is contact a state senator/representative.

They had mine renewed and in my hands within 72 hours

Shouldn’t be a problem. Make an appointment with the passport office in New Orleans

And if your teen is under 16, you will need both parents, I believe. Read up on all the regulations about passports for minors before you try to get her one.

Thanks yes...we've had to both go with my son to get his when he was 13 as well....for some reason we never got one for my daughter.

We are going to the JP Clerks office this afternoon and we have a US Congressman already waiting to flag it and push it through...I have to have it by Friday

Good luck--smart to call Graves. His office is very responsive to constituent concerns.

I flew with my wife's family to Australia back before we got married (they have extended family there who we were going to visit). One of her brothers, who was out of college and living on his own, assumed that his mom had his passport. We flew to LA for an overnight with some other relatives then were flying to Australia the next day.

Big bro got to have an extended stay in LA with the relatives there while he worked out his passport issues. Similar deal that we called the Missouri state senator and got help for him. They were able to expedite the process, and he joined us in Australia a day (maybe two) later.

Still one of the most hilariously embarassing (for him) stories that we tell as a family.
