Headed up to New York in a couple of weeks for work and will be staying at the Renaissance in Chelsea. Wife is planning on coming up on the tail end and we wanted to extend our trip through Saturday. All of the options for Friday night are around $300-350. Any of them better than the other?
Could also stay at the Renaissance an extra night on a separate reservation and they may be able to let us keep the same room the whole stay.
Thoughts?

Whatever you do, do NOT stay at Sheraton Times Square. Worst stay of my life with nasty rooms and abysmal service.

Stayed at that hotel at the end of April. If I were you I’d just stay there. It was clean and in a good area. Room was small but well appointed. Has a bar and an Italian place in the hotel as well as a nightclub on the roof.

I would lean to staying in the same place unless there was a big price difference. I changed hotels in Chicago midweek once, and it was a pain to pack up, get a ride, unload, check in, unpack, etc. Big time suck when you could be having fun. Plus, you likely know the lay of the land and the train stations where you are, so won’t have to adjust.

I stay at the Lexington a lot. I think it is solid and you can occasionally find a decent rate there.
