Welcome yall. Pinnacle is full of new money/chain restaurants. Downtown Rogers is less snooty than Downtown Bentonville. I do like Peddlers pub, first seat and 8th street market in Bentonville

it reminds me of all the non-charm of the Woodlands. Downtown Bentonville and Downtown Rogers both seem fine. That is way more my vibe. We are going to Fayetteville tomorrow.

this is on my list to investigate. Maybe over to Harrison also. Looks pretty but is racist history still alive and well there? (I am from Livingston parish which also was said to be racist but no one seems that way anymore). Initial look at Gravette seemed fine as well. The farmland is nice.

Farmers Table and Arsaga's have great (but busy) brunch. The farther you get from I49 the more 'Ozark' you get.

Rent a pontoon boat at Loch Lomond this Spring

Drive to Jasper, then come back through Harrison to see more of the country

Maybe visit a few caves this Spring

that is my concern. Bentonville seems to have a lot of nice non-crimey diversity due to the work reasons people are here. We also have a diverse family due to lots of adoptions so it is a concern that everyone is welcome. I do want to avoid overpricing (which is everywhere) and traffic but also do not want to be surrounded by backwoods mentality.

We ended up purchasing in Bella Vista near Loch Lomond in the Gravette school district. Got a great deal on an off market property so that made the decision easier. Small neighborhood that is very welcoming.

may parents have a large tract between pelsor and Ben hur right off 16, and they just bought a nice place on beaver lake on the Rogers side. So they are full time Arkansas residents now

the place in the mountains is great fall/winter/spring but pretty miserable in summer. Hopefully the lake house will be the summer place

Breeze has a cheap flight from MSY to Fayetteville so I won’t have to take the shitty 10-hour drive anymore. Anyway they love it up there and I can see why. Compared to south LA the living is much easier and much more outdoors stuff to do

Inlaws live down the marina cove on Loch Lomond. We'll be spending this weekend up there. Nice area, and the bypass has made it significantly more accessible.

What made you decide you were moving to NWA before even stepping foot there (based on reading the thread).

Asking because wife & I are considering buying a vacation home in the next 3-5 years that will become our retirement home in the next 15-18 years. Right now we're leaning towards TN & NC for the mountain views. We are not live off the land type, so need some amenities and want to be within 1 hour of airports. Different areas of Ark have recently peaked our interests, but we haven't really explored it too much

We had job considerations and grown children (equal proximity to all grandchildren) that limited us to certain states. We wanted 4 seasons. My husband prefers mountain areas. I prefer tourist areas because of more restaurants and activities for visitors when they come in town.
