Should I cancel my booked NYC trip Thanksgiving week?

First, let me start by saying I’m not scared.
I just don’t want to go if it’s going to be Covid driven. I don’t want to go if half the stuff will be closed, mask mandate, no Broadway (it hasn’t closed yet), etc.

Yes. Cancel all of your NYC plans.

COVID has made daily life fluid — what may be allowed today, may not tomorrow. I don’t think any of us can forecast what NYC will be like over three months from now.
However, knowing what we do today, I’d think you’re fine keeping this trip on the calendar, provided you won’t have an issue showing proof of at least one dose.

You have to decide this today?

I don't think things will be closed.
But if you don't want to show proof of vaccination and/or wear a mask, I probably wouldn't go.

I do if I want to find something else

Do you have a better idea on what would be closed for the rest of the country during Thanksgiving other than NYC? Wouldn’t you be in the same boat for any vacation booked?
Why do you have to cancel now instead of 60 days from now?

We are thinking a cabin in Montana/Wyoming, or something like that

You can wait 60 days to book a cabin in that part of the country
Or book them both. Everything should be refundable these days

How long will there be a one dose minimum though? By Thanksgiving everyone hitting the one dose threshold now should have their second well before. Then at some point it will be a booster and another booster.
