I know they can suck sometimes and get a lot of crap on here but they were awesome helping me out this morning. Flying alexandria la to denver xmas-new years. Flights were booked several months ago. Our return flight on NY day was 6am which was gonna suck getting up that early and driving back from breckenridge. Saw on Google this am that they had another return flight at 930 am. Called to see what it would cost to switch hoping it would be nothing since flights are actually a tad bit cheaper than when I booked. Lady switched me to the other flight at no cost (basic economy) and since it was cheaper she issued me an AA voucher of 267$ bc of the difference. Maybe this is standard practice but wasn't expecting that at all. Especially on an economy ticket. Just thought I'd share.

My wife and I have had good experiences with AA. We have a Advantage credit card and go through them every flight out of BTR.

The one bright spot of COVID was the legacy carriers doing what they should have been doing all along.

No change fees.

Good point. Thats a gamechanger for me. I can enjoy NYE now in breck not stressing about needing to leave at 3am for that 6am flight. And almost 300 off my next flight with AA. I'll take it.

I have the AAdvantage card too and use it to get free tickets. I've had very, very few issues with AA, and nothing worse than you'd get with other airlines (a small handful of flight delays, cancelled flights, etc). I guess I'm just lucky?

Just depends where you travel.... if going west AA.... if going east delta. I have CC’s for both and about 200k miles saved up on AA and delta... plus almost 300k chase ultimate rewards and 150k IHG points. One day going to be able travel somewhere cool when all this crap slows down

That’s the anti thesis of AA policies.

Glad you had a great experience. Airlines are making it so much easier to rebook better flight times and prices now. Noticed lots of flights within 2-3 weeks have their prices go down as compared to the past it's been 2-3 months. I will say I haven't had this happen on AA, but I have had comments like the below.

Been there
