I'd love to hear your experiences for the trip, good and not so good. Opinions of the school choices?
Remember taking our kids around to look at colleges. It's an exciting and stressful experience!
PS: My "post experience" suggestion: Have them go to as cheap a school as you/they can afford for undergrad until they get their feet wet, know what they want etc. If they progress over time in that direction, consider helping with grad school later on once they get a sense of direction. Them "finding themselves" to the tune of $30-$60k/year ain't fun! For you at least.

What do you have against Vanderbilt? Frankly, the odds of your daughter getting in were slim anyways. Their acceptance rate is like at 5%. Alternatively, Belmont's is at 95%

We were aware of that when we visited. The median accepted SAT score is 1500. Hers is 1560. She has another year to improve that. And they are test optional. She will graduate with 15 AP classes and 2 dual enrollment classes. I really wish you wouldn’t have come at me like that. What do i have against Vanderbilt? Can you not read between the lines?
We may go back and look at Belmont. Probably not. Thank you to all who helped.

Belmont is a good school. Could be a good overall choice.
If the goal is a small school?
FYI, maybe take a look at Furman? I went there many years ago for a year then transferred to Tulane. Much has changed these days and some friends in the area had sent their kids there.
Flagler in St. Augustine.
Emory in GA?

Belmont was beautiful. She couldn’t get past the 95% acceptance rate. I told her that could be in part due to it being such a specialized school perhaps it attracts a niche applicant? Furman is an excellent suggestion. She loved downtown Greenville and it appears to have a music scene which playing is really what she wants to do. The school was nice but small, basically the size of her high school.
I want to thank you specifically for being so helpful with the Nashville recommendations. Maybe after a few months I’ll be up for another 6 hour drive. You know what, I’m flying that drive sucked!

Reading between the lines, if Vandy is out for political reasons I think Emory would be a run away screaming no. At least that would probably be true for the Atlanta campus; Oxford campus may not be as progressive.

College campuses are liberal??? Shocker!!! Let's run away from something because we're afraid of liberal and progressives roaming around ... and I say that, in obvious jest, as a Republican/Conservative...
Maybe take a look at Liberty or College of the Ozarks (i.e., "Hard Work U"). Or perhaps Baylor is what you're looking for.
