Went there for a wedding a few years ago. We rode the cable car thing to the top of the mountain and drank a few beers up there. It was pretty cool. A few buddies went rainbow trout fishing close by and caught some monsters too. If you're into wildlife, then you should be able to see quite a bit close to town up there.

We will be there from Jan. 21 - 31. Our good friend, who owns a house there, gave us the following info:
Restaurants are open for in house dining and take out; however, indoor is limited to 25% so reservations are needed for most restaurants. Many use open table, but some have to be contracted directly.
Some of our favorites:
Aurum - great food and happy hour. If u use open table, I’d recommend you asking for table by window and mentioning in note that ur my friend and dined the evening with the dirty joke waiter. He’s still there, but they will make sure you don’t get him. I think they have a whole file on me — and I generally get excellent table and service.
Otto Pint - great flatbread pizza and salads
Carl’s - sports bar
O’Neill’s — fabulous fried fish, chicken, Mac & cheese, etc etc (one of our new favorites)
Laundry/Creekside share space. Creekside has fabulous breakfast and lunch. Laundry has an unusual menu. Some love- some don’t.
Mahogany Ridge - dinner
Table 79 is part of Aurum. I haven’t checked out their new menu.
Fiesta Jalisco great Tex mex
Wynonas - excellent breakfast or lunch
Freshies - excellent breakfast or lunch
Paramount - great lunch ... fries to die for
Big house burgers - best burgers
Apres Burgers and Bistro - new place offering gourmet burgers. We ate there and enjoyed it.
Truffle pig - overpriced and not that great in my opinion
Ore House - Larry loves their steaks
Catamount is an exclusive private club on a beautiful lake. But - you can eat at the restaurant looking over the lake and see some of the facilities. Jordan and I are going for lunch today.
Slope side lunch or dinner - bar food
Taco Cabo - favorite local Mexican restaurant... kind of a dive
For the non-skiers:
Dogsledding- a blast!!!
Snowmobiling
Snowshoeing- rent and take off
Massage -
Facial
Drive to Vail for lunch and shopping (bout 2 hours away)
Rollercoaster open
Hope this helps.

Support earthing you’ve said but For the Mexican food place.
For the mountain, once you find the Tomahawk run it’s hard to not do it 20 more times.
And please tell Jordan hello for me.

The gondola at SBS only brings you to mid mountain.

I don’t have any great recommendations about steamboat but I have a great story...
Circa 2000 about 10 of us 20ish year olds went there for a ski trip over Christmas break. One of my buddies got arrested for. DWI with his fraternity brothers ID because we weren’t 21and he was using it until we were legal.
It was funny that night but the next morning when we woke up and realized that he was in deep shite, it didn’t sound so funny.
I spent the last two days of my trip with him and a lawyer trying to figure out how to fix the problem. I don’t remember what the outcome was but he is still an idiot doing idiot things.

Good heavens lift ticket prices are out of control.
Normally we go to Crested Butte, but changing it up this year. Are LT normally $199 for adults or is that a COVID thing to makeup for lower skiers. $199 is the same as Vale and Beaver Creek and more than Telluride and Breck.
The mountain does not seem worthy of that price, but I guess I will find out.
