Wife and I are going to Italy at the end of June. Who do yall suggest I get trip insurance through, and are there different "coverages" associated with this type of insurance?

What are you looking to cover? Your best insurance to be honest, is to pay extra for refundable tickets, lodging, etc.

Trip insurance is good for what it covers, but its very limited and requires a very clear trigger such as a death, hospitalization, or flight delay that's covered. Things like weather, acts of god, and just general delays from staffing are often not covered.

That I know of, there's not anything that covers just having Covid. You can get coverage if you are hospitalized for it or anything else.

But for just the protocol, your best bet is to have refundable lodging and flights that can be moved. If for example you are just in quarantine, I don't think anything covers that.

If you're going to travel a lot, have various recurring expenses, highly recommend looking at premium cards. We have Chase Sapphire Reserve.

We bill a lot of our expenses on that and it's come out to be a great deal when you consider all the benefits. It offers trip insurance, Global Entry, among many other benefits.

Usually you're supposed to book trip insurance within 30 days of booking your trip
