It looks like only about a quarter of the space they have in Orlando. I hope they hit the highlights from Florida location.

I doubt this will be a national attraction like the coastal parks, but I think it will have regional appeal.
Relative to population, Texas doesn’t have a great theme park scene. I have thought the Herschend people (Dollywood/Silver Dollar City) should develop a park in Texas. It made a lot of demographic sense to me.

I mean, SeaWorld in San Antonio can only keep itself open on weekends in low season.

It seems like with the amount of people moving into Texas it will be a good move in the long run.

Really? Wow.
I do have a funny story about that park, though. I went there several years ago and was in a car line to the parking lot. I was behind some old ornery looking guy in a convertible with what looked like a couple of grandkids in tow. The attendant told him the price to park was $20 (or something like that). The old guy said, “$20? What the hell are y’all going to do, wash and wax?”

I read somewhere that the park and hotel are going to sit on 30 acres. That is an extremely small footprint for a park and hotel. For reference, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios in Florida are 110ish acres each. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to seeing how the park turns out.

WTF...Why?
I just got back from Orlando and they could build that thing twice the size and still make money hand over fist. It's insane.
How the hell in Texas are you building it smaller?

It's going into Prosper, I was there last weekend. Not far from Jerry Jones' "Star," Maybe a mile and a half away. This area is home to developments like "the billion dollar mile," and is about to break ground on "the 10 billion dollar mile."
The Frisco Independent School District owns nearly all of the land in the area. Short answer, land is not cheap there, and it is in the middle of one of the fastest growing areas in all of Texas.

They should build a Super Bowl winning experience. Only way this generation of Cowboys fans will know how it feels. Eyyyoooo
