I thought La residents had to quarantine if they went as tourists. Is that not the case if a La tourist stays at a hotel?

Alabama as a state is opening up, just about completely, on Monday. Restaurants/bars at 50% capacity.

So, as a LA resident, can my family of 5 and my sisters’ family of 4 check in a beach house in Pensacola on May 21 and checkout May 25?

Currently, no. Unless the governor lifts the ban on short term rentals.
Vacation rental band lasts until phase 2 of Florida’s plan. They are currently in phase 1 and will most likely be in phase 1 another 2 weeks.

Sorry if this has been covered in this topic but are hotels included in the rental ban? Can you rent a hotel room in Destin or PCB?

Hotel is allowed. Condos and homes are not. The pool at your hotel may be closed.

Miramar Beach was beautiful today. Super windy and huge waves. They had the red flag out. Plenty of people out but not crowded like peak season. Water was cold as hell but we got in anyway.

It’s not that cold once you’re in it. It’s been nice this last 2 weeks. Might stay another week and enjoy the low crowds. Once Memorial Day gets here it’s all down hill for 3 months.

To clarify, I believe that the ban on short term rentals in Florida still applies to out of state individuals DURING phase 2. Phase 2 only opens them up for in state renters.

It’s only suggestion.

What’s demand look like in the gulf shores/orange beach area? Wondering if prices are down.

Does the out of state ban apply to existing rentals or only new reservations? We have a condo rented in Destin that has been reserved since December.
Posted on 5/9/20 at 12:24 pm to midlothianlsu
Applies to future and existing rentals. If the ban is still in place when your dates come up the homeowners/rental company/etc will contact you to cancel or reschedule......if they are following the law.
I suspect the ban will be removed by Memorial Day as the pressure is mounting.

I don't see it going further than the 18th.
Biased opinion because I'm booked for 2 weeks starting the 21st

Yes. DeSantis is going to (already has) lost a huge amount of support from the panhandle if the rentals remain closed. Opening them just to FL residents isn't going to do shite. Whether some residents like it or not, they economy there is out of state tourism.

I get into at all time with the locals who bitch about the tourists. What they don’t understand is that if not for the tourists, we would not have all these golf courses, restaurants and shopping that we all enjoy. If they want the quiet beach that was here 30+ years ago then they should move down to Mexico Beach. There is plenty of cheap real estate they can go build on away from all the tourists.

I rented through AirBnb before all of this took effect. I was going to cancel but the owner said that resorts are not included in the ban. Anyway, I am on Okaloosa Island now. Beautiful weather, not overly crowded and no Gestapo tactics that I was worried about.

when you cross the checkpoint and let them know that you are there for work they will give u a form saying u must quarantine for 15 days or leave the state, whichever is first..you'll never be bothered about anything at all after that

There for work?? Should I tell them I am there for work if I have my wife and kids with me? Can’t I just say I have a hotel booked and I’m going to quarantine in my room?

Or just get off the interstate before and avoid the checkpoint altogether
