Not sure. We were just told our reservation was cancelled because of short-term rental bans.

They have a hotline for people to call and report violations. Basically, and I'm tired of the term, but Karens.
The penalties for renters are no big deal, but the owners can lose their rental license and face big fines.
It's insanity.

Seems like Gov DeSantis is dropping the ball on the short term rentals. Makes no sense to ban them but allow hotels.

The hotel lobby must have much deeper pockets than the rental lobby...

It makes perfect sense when you consider how long the hotel industry has been entrenched in Florida and how vital they are to their economy. That's not to say short term rental aren't also important, because they are, but the hotel industry has far more clout.

There are a few ways around this. The company that manages our properties is, with permission from owners, giving big discounts for 30 day rentals and/or grouping multiple reservations as one.
For example, you have 4 families renting for the month of June. Instead of 4 separate reservations, they are rebooking them as one for the entire month and allotting each family a specific use period.
How do i get in on this? i had my memorial day reservation cancelled.

So what in Orange Beach is open for indoor dining? And Florabama is still just outdoors, right?

We should turn the OT loose on that site.

All restaurants (and bars) in Alabama are allowed to be open right now for indoor dining, so everything in Orange Beach is open. FloraBama is still just outdoors since it is in Florida.

Good god there are some sad people in that thread. JodiFL may take the award for Karen of the year.

Nothing specific, tables have to be spread out and they must adhere to “social distancing guidelines” whatever that means.

Call around and ask, there are several doing it. I don’t want to list them here as I’m sure the Karen’s would seek them out.
