Yes, Walton submitted a letter, I believe, on Wednesday. This was not the plan that the governor was referring to. I think Walton county is drafting the plan and submitting this week. 80% of their sales tax revenue comes from tourism.

Is it ok to let family stay in your condo if you aren’t charging anything?

Technically not a rental if there’s no money exchange right?

Looks like Louisiana residents are screwed.

quote:

The plan, sent Friday night to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, proposes short-term vacation rentals in the county be allowed to take reservations from guests in states with COVID-19 case rates less than 700 per 100,000 residents as of May 15. That would include all states with the exception of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana and Michigan, as well as Washington, D.C.

Well, shite. I imagine that is the blueprint most counties will follow. Fingers still crossed for Walton

I saw a social media post today from somewhere in Florida of sheriff deputies going to beach houses and condos checking in who was staying there. Writing tickets and issuing fines to owners and renters who weren’t in compliance.

I’m not sure how they would prove you paid to stay there

I’m pretty sure that post is bullshite. It’s a picture with a few police cars in front of a unit. There isn’t anything in there for context.

Will the police investigate a call in complaint? Probably.

Are they going door to door like the gestapo? No

Exactly. My uncle owns this place, I didn’t pay a dime.

Have a decent story and don’t be a pussy. They aren’t opening an investigation for condo rental

Are they still checking at the AL/FL border for LA drivers license? I assume it is just on I-10 or other places too?

Made it to Pensacola last night. I came in from the north, so no checkpoint, but I'm also a TN resident, so wouldn't have been an issue. I'm staying at my "Uncle Joe's" place. He's one of my dad's old fraternity brothers, so he hooked us up. Pensacola Beach was slammed yesterday evening. Looked like a normal Saturday night. People everywhere and bumper to bumper to traffic.

It's hit or miss right now. On Friday they stopped my mom and my sister in law but not us (or anyone around us). Yesterday, they were stopping people again.

If if they are making La residents fill out the paperwork I still don't think it's worth driving around if you're just looking to save time.
