Guess who’s never been around Chinese tourists.

I’ve been around plenty of Chinese and Indian tourists......I’m still handing the prize for ultra loud to the Americans.

People that immediately try to recline their seats and people in the back of the plane that use overhead bins towards the front.

I never understood the hate for this. It's not like today's seats recline a foot. You are lucky to get an inch or two. If everybody reclines, then everyone is more comfortable and the spacing is exactly the same if no one reclines.

Because I’m 6’4” and my knees are in the back of the seat before they recline.

People who complain about other American tourists:
Be a bit more intrepid and go places not frequented by them. This goes for Chinese as well; they are actually worse.
My pet peeves?
Wheeled suitcases by fully abled body people, umbrellas when it’s sunny (very distinctly Asian thing), merchants walking alongside me for 15 minutes trying to sell me things I don’t want, people who are NOT ready to deboard the airplane who get up in front of people who ARE ready, and selfie sticks.

1. When I'm in line at TSA and people wait until they are at the belt to remember "oh yeah, I have a laptop in my bag. And liquids. And my shoes are on. Oh and will my phone set off the detecter? Because that's still in my pocket, along with a bunch of loose change! Sorry I only had 20 minutes standing in line to think about this but just realized this second."

The standing up doesn’t bother me, if someone wants to stand up who cares. It’s the people who start moving up the isle immediately that I can’t stand.
This. Stand all you want, but as soon as you start trying to inch up on me, I’m sure to cut you off and take my sweet time.

Won't lie if I'm on an aisle (what i usually get) and the guy in middle or window seat starts standing trying to cross over me i get annoyed. This has happened a couple times as i just stay seated until i see people start moving.

Agree with all the airplane/airport comments. For some reason airplanes make people go nuts and act like asshats.
I hate when my group is called to board and we make a line and move forward then suddenly some self important person just shoves their way to the front. I have watched local well known people act like dickheads boarding a plane.

One of my main ones is when I'm in the airport and there is usually "that guy" who has to speak entirely too loud on his cell about the great deal he's trying to close.

Should be thrown from the plane at altitude. The people, not the luggage.

When everyome crowds the baggage claim carousel. People can't stand 10 ft back and just go up when they see their bag. It drives me nuts

For me when I see someone traveling and instead of eating somewhere local they eat at a chain restaurant
As another poster said, if you've spent 5 days straight eating 3rd world country cuisine, sometimes you just need a burger or something to plug the leak. I've eaten at plenty of chains in other countries for this purpose.
If that's all you're eating then yes I would agree.
One of my biggest is obnoxiously loud talkers on a flight. It's worse than a baby crying IMO.

Folks watching videos or kids playing games with no earphones on. Drives me insane.

I think it's a shame when people travel to beautiful and culturally rich areas and simply refuse to even consider staying at B&B's and instead opt to stay in concrete boxes. In my opinion, mingling with the proprietors and fellow guests is half the fun and lets you immerse yourself in the local culture - albeit for a day or two.

I have always heard this, but in my experience it is almost always Chinese tour groups. My God, they can absolutely ruin a good setting. Hoards and hoards of selfie sticks, loud speakers and just pushing their way through everyone to whatever they want to see.

Americans can be annoying but we are not as bad as Asians with 0 self awareness. They can ruin a nice experience.
Found an opening to take a pic in Pompeii and before I could take 2 steps I was engulfed in a crowd of them. nearly carried me away like a pack of ants.
Europeans with 0 concept of a line. I get it, its your culture but when there is obviously a line wait your freakin turn.

Why does that annoy you? I'd rather not be dragging or lifting my 50 lb bag from the airport parking to the check-in at 5 in the morning.
