Has anyone been to the North Rim since the big fire last year?
Everyone had their preference, but I loved Bryce over all others. Zion can get PACKED and it’s so freaking narrow it makes it even worse. I got to Bryce at 6:30, got a front row spot, and had a nearly private hiking experience. And getting INTO Bryce is absolutely worth it.
Capital Reef is incredible, but it’s one of those parks you need a prepped off-road vehicle to truly experience. The roadside hikes are nice but I wouldn’t make a special trip...but the drive from Bryce to Capital Reef is one of the best in America.
As another poster said, you need to visit Coral Pink Sand Dunes SP.

agreed
Bryce is completely hassle free which makes a huge difference to me.
I can’t stand long duration crowds while on vacation

This is a post about our trip in February. Yes, it can be done. If it wasn’t winter, I’d have definitely spent more time in Bryce. The snow was too thick for hiking without the proper footwear.

Why is Monument closed? You can’t just ride thru the goddamn thing? Geez. Had it in my plans this May.

You can drive through Hwy 163, but the Navajo Nation tribal road 17 mile loop tour is still closed.

We're making the trip in late May & staying at Goulding's Lodge.

Glad I found this thread. We are planning to essentially hit all of this in a week in early November. The plan is to fly into Denver to pick up a couple family members and then make the trek towards Utah and the Grand Canyon. For those who have made this trek, are there any hotels/restaurants you’d recommend in each location?

Highly recommend a hotel in Springdale, UT outside Zion if you can get one. We stayed at the Springhill Suites. Views from the hotel were amazing.
After leaving Zion, we stayed at Home2Suites in Page, AZ on our stop at Horseshoe Bend on the way to Monument Valley & eventually the Grand Canyon.
