If you think that is a “pop” you would think John Rocker was launching missiles to the catcher. I was probably 10-12 years old, and the “pop” of the catcher’s mitt still stands out in my memory. That was when I realized how big of a difference there was between the pros and everyone else.

Like chopping wood! Quite a few years ago I was above the bullpen in AZ with my son and we 'heard' Billy Wagner's FB whizzing through the air and hitting the mitt. It sounded just like Skenes' FB.

2 IP, 4Ks. SS's bat ran into a FB for a solo shot in his first inning of work. He mixed his off-speed and did a good job keeping them off balanced.
