During his press conference on Monday, LSU coach Brian Kelly was asked to comment on the lawsuit that Greg Brooks filed against the school. Here's how Kelly responded:
quote:

"It's well known, and we have talked about the love that we have for Greg Brooks, Kelly said.

"He's a leader. He is beloved by his teammates, and that will continue. Unfortunately, lawsuits occur daily in our culture and society. It is what it is, but that doesn't change how we feel about Greg."

"Our support is going to be there. We hope and pray for only the best for him. But when it comes to lawsuits... our kids, players, and coaches... we really focus on Greg and hope and pray and stay away from anything that has legal ramifications."

I wasn't reading the whole lawsuit, but basically he's suing because trainers cleared him, but after symptoms were still there they told him he'd lose his starting spot if he sat. So he continued practicing. Again, HE continued practicing. Now I hope he recovers from everything like nothing ever happened, and live a long healthy life. But at some point you took it upon yourself to continue playing. Yes peer pressure was there, but geez, at some point you have to take your own accountability. Of course a coach will tell you you won't start, we got a game to play and someone needs to be in that position.

He answered that well. You never know what’s going on behind the scenes. Also don’t know what their financial situation is. I’d assume LSU has insurance policies and such for this purpose and I’m sure it will work out for all sides.

What's he supposed to say that he didn't say? Brooks family is looking for a handout, a bunch of grifters trying to make money off LSU since their NFL lottery ticket missed.
No. He handled it correctly.

It just sucks all the way around. Tough to blame LSU/coaches or even the hospital/neurosurgeon for a medulloblastoma. From a symptom and treatment standpoint, it’s one of the trickiest of all brain tumors. Still, prayers for GB and I hope we can settle and get he and his family on the right track.

LSU will pay. I promise you that. It does not matter who is right and who is wrong. God Bless the Brooks Family.

Why should LSU have to pay? They didn’t cause the brain tumor.
