After watching Death On The Nile I decided to order a few books. This book is good with maybe the best ending I've ever read. I highly recommend it.

I love her stories. In my 11th grade English class, we had to read “And then There Were None.”

Starting out, I thought i didn’t think I would like it at all. I actually read it and loved it. Good author.

I need to give Death on the Nile a read.

Just read And Then There Were None. Another great mystery with a surprise ending.

Yeah, Christie is no Nobel Prize level novelist and is basically a poor man's Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. But, nonetheless, her books are definitely fun and entertaining. More of something you'd read sitting at the beach or something.

I remember reading "10 Little Indians" in high-school and enjoyed it. (I think the novel was alternately titled "And Then There Were None").

Wow, just checked Wikipedia and the original title was "10 Little N-words." No wonder American publishers changed the name.

I saw that as well after I read the book. How times have changed.

Not to detract from her at all, but perhaps you should read Rex Stout too.

I love detective fiction and Nero Wolf is one of my absolute favorites. Some Buried Caesar and Black Mountain are great. However, Peroit > Wolf. Just my two cents.

Poirot maybe>Wolf, but Stout’s creation of the character Archie Goodwin, Wolf’s assistant, as narrator sets those novels apart.

Start with the first one Fer-de-Lance. That way if you like them you can read them in order. The first nine are all good.

Conan Doyle is a top 3 author for me but in no way is Agatha Christie a poor man's Doyle. She's not a poor man's anybody. Poirot isn't as popular as Sherlock but her writing and stories are top notch. She was actually more impressive than Doyle writing outside their most famous character than Doyle was and had true mysteries that relied less on the character and more on what they should... the mystery itself.

Agree. She was terrific. Also love Patricia Highsmith as female crime writer.
