I used to read multiple books per week. For about four or five years, I struggled to focus on books. My strategy recently (except for reading Blood Meridian) has been to focus on easy books just to get back into the habit. I have been reading my old nerd books from my teenage years (Forgotten Realms) and a few that came out after I stopped reading those.

The barn- by Wright Thompson .. it’s about the ms delta and emmit tills murder ( it’s exactly how you think it’s going to… mixture of history and white guilt in an ode to the delta )
For example; he capitalizes Black yet leaves white lowercase through the entire book
Audiobook at the moment : everyone lies

What an interesting book
And almost all of it happens in like a 2 minute time span of missile in the air ( may be misremembering the timeline some)

I gotta say, not liking the intro to this one. Author seems to poo poo US military rules of engagement

Just finished the Divine Comedy by Dante. Inferno was frightening and detailed. Purgatorio was kind of forgetful. Paradisio was beautiful but hard to picture. I'm about to start on Stephen King books now. Starting with The Monkey, then either Life of Chuck or The Long Walk, then I will read The Running Man

Been reading these Abby Jimenez books off and on this year. Cute, Hallmark-esque stories. I’ve enjoyed them.

Told my neice she needs to stop reading all this romance novel crap she reads. She said if I read one she'll read a book I pick out. mailed The Hobbit to her yesterday.

Yeah, I'm about 560 pages in and trying to convince myself that it's worth finishing. Took a break and read Abercrombie's The Devils, but now that I've finished that one, it's time to decide to read further or move on to something else.

Just finished this day. I liked it overall. Just not sure how I fell about the ending.

Hell House by Richard Matheson. Definitely enjoying it more than the last book I read...The Haunting of Hill House.
