Why can't Dean Koontz end a book?

I've been tricked too many times to count.
He writes the best 3/4 of a book out there but then he has to go and ruin it every time with the worst climaxes.
First one that come to mind is this great sociopath villian that seems untouchable then the hero takes him out by popping a wheelie on a motorcycle and crashing through the secund floor of a warehouse and grabbing the girl held prisoner and knocking the villian down.
Really? You set this masterpiece in motion for 400 pages and it ends like that in 2 paragraphs?
I won't spoil his other books except to say I feel like I get burned every single time.
Eta I keep buying them because I keep finding them for 50 cents at the Goodwill.

Doesn't he put golden retrievers in a lot of his books?

He's often compared to Stephen King. King can't finish a book worth a shite either.

I haven't read a Koontz novel since the late 90s, but I think Lightning, Twilight eyes, and the House of Thunder (meh book, good ending) all had very solid endings. He's not nearly as bad at ending books as Stephen King I don't think.

I'm usally disappointed with book endings in general. I think I have unrealistic expectations.
Imo the best Koontz endings are From the Corner of His Eye and Lightning.

Literally just read that one about a month and a half ago. Bit of a tear jerker that one is.

I agree that King can't finish a book worth a crap...
My problem with Koontz is he spells everything out like your a 5th grader...reading him is like watching tv...no imagination needed...
