One thing that I do wonder is if Jay Johnson sees all this and demands higher roster spending as well. He should.
baseball lost 2 million in 24. I love it. I love JJ. It is my favorite sport, but JJ is getting plenty.

LSU is going to start an arms race of sorts with NIL spending.

And you’re right, Lane would be retarded to turn that down but if he does, we’re getting damn near whoever we want after him.

Every SEC School will be around $30 or more, it's rev share + NIL

Basically going to get a bunch of players chasing a bag and having nothing else to drive them.

I mean, what drove them before NIL? The NFL? That still exists. And I don't think their first taste of real money is going to stop them from wanting that goal. I think its more likely the opposite, they will play there arse off for the next years check as these deals are all seemingly year to year.

That will be a massive fail and is simply being maybe the worst in ruining college sports.

This is I agree with, but not because of NIL. Its the portal along WITH NIL that's ruining the sport. If they couldn't transfer so freely, it would actually be a damn good system as kids would have the buy in for their school. Make it a one time transfer unless the school chooses to release them. First transfer they can either sit a year with no penalty or play immediately and lose their redshirt year. If they want to transfer a second time, they sit out a and lose an additional year of eligibility of D1 ball.
