Raymond Joseph and Davis are the best at what they do hell Saban would have those 3 right now and replace his people

But Vol’s info seems to come from what people are telling recruits. Is the last guy telling recruits “I might not be here, I might. Itll be up to the new coach”?
Seems odd

Which is borderline laughable.
Can you imagine Franklin, Riley, Kiffin, or any other active head coach sitting in his office at his school, on the phone with Woodward, telling him who he wants to keep on his unofficial future staff without having even met with any of those assistants himself?
No coach of that caliber is going to be making impromptu staff decisions for a future job at another school in the middle of the season without having even signed a contract.
And if we're instead mandating staff decisions for a new coach, well, that seems even more unbelievable. Offering a new coach a $100+ million contract but dictating staff decisions to them is a complete juxtaposition - if you're paying someone that much money to come in and fix the program, you're giving them the liberty to bring in their own guys.

And those 3 likely know the future hire to know with certainty they want to remain. Won’t be much longer until it leaks.

Maybe it's an offensive guy then who has no problem keeping the best defensive coaches on staff.

If it's an offensive guy like Riley, I'd imagine the ones that are staying would be on the other side of the ball. I wouldn't want anyone telling him who he can and can't keep on the offensive staff.

I agree VolTiger has had great info as long as I have read I think some decisions were changed at the last minute on the Jimbo year hire so not his fault!

Nasty rumor I heard this morning is that it’s Jimbo. Deal made and those three stay. Smoke and mirrors bc Jimbo doesn’t want a shite show like last time. I hope that this is intentional misinformation. Comes from a money guy involved in the buyout.

So Lincoln Riley says yes to LSU and LSU tells him he can't bring his own OL coach because he has to keep the one on staff.
Nope, but someone like Tucker would.
God don’t let it be Tucker.

Vol,, Is there a coach or a couple of coaches with an agreement to come if officially offered, and keep these 3 or possibly 4 or are those the stipulations by Admin for the realistic candidates?

It’s a joke. No coach worth his salt is going to retain any assistant coach without interviewing them. Only a dumbass like O would do something like that

Isn't this the very reason Napier was turned off by Auburn?
Just ftr Auburn fans have disputed that entire story. The most I've heard from them is that Napier might have been trying to put his hat in the ring at some point but Harsin was always the guy. It seems clear he was never offered the job and the rumor he would have been forced to retain certain coaches seems also largely false.

Yeah I stand corrected, wasn’t expecting any responses at all then all the sudden Vol is on my thread posting little tidbits. Lol

Out of the candidates, who would already be familiar with the staff?

Well that rules out Billy Napier since that was the whole reason he didn’t accept the Auburn job. He wanted to bring in his own guys. For the love of God, don’t let it be Franklin
IDK, I can see Scott saying we really want to retain these 3-4 guys, but you have full control of the rest of the hires. The big 2 aren't staying so he gets to choose his OC/DC. That's the main thing.
I listened to a few minutes of one of the Napier interviews and he said he had 6 new coaches this season. Maybe having a few stable coaches that he knows aren't going anywhere, but aren't the decision makers (coordinators) is actually viewed as a good thing.
None of this means that I think it's Napier, but I don't think this means he's not the guy.

Capper think sometimes before opening your mouth. Those 3 coaches have been the best at what they do for 20 years and if any incoming coach doesn’t know that then I don’t want them near LSU campus!

I always wondered this as well.
I figured they would. Really don't know who to believe. I have wondered if Auburn was the one that turned Napier down.

You’re assuming some things… I’ll just leave it at that
