Why Alleva?

Because he's the top man in charge who approves coaching hires.

And what would be wrong with the hire from the administrative perspective? That would be the direction the HC wants to go, there’s no known reputational/off field risk, and presumably a significant financial risk wouldn’t be needed.

Why you wanna act like such a jerk though? You need an attitude adjustment.

The admin hired Orgeron to be a CEO who hires top shelf coordinators to surround him. If he promotes and old TE coach from within, that is not indicative they made the correct choice hiring Orgeron. If Orgeron makes a great hire at OC and the AD approves it, then we're still on track. All of this ultimately falls on Alleva, though.

Who then has a very mediocre season, fires the highest paid OC in the country after 1 year because he meddled in the offense, then tries to promote a 70 year old OC who hasn’t installed an offense in 20 years.

We're a mixed bag (of people). There are type A personalities and type B and all in between. Im just fed up with the a**holes here that live for reprimanding others, cursing and calling people names. I'm freaging sick of it. Lot of attitude adjustments needed here!! Serious a** - whippings needed, these punks hiding on a smart phones.

Right, but that doesn’t mean the admin chooses the philosophy and direction of individual sides of the ball, does it? Shouldn’t that depend on the philosophy and vision of the HC?

There are plenty of things that do, and did, indicate they didn’t make the correct choice already. Shouldn’t the view of an OC hire be based on results?

Or is the entire thought process that would lead to such a hire so nonsensical that it brings even more questions about their judgement into play?

I think the problem is that you really believe that message board melts are influential, and people like me think that’s not really true. We don’t deny that emails to the Admin and pressure in the media is influential, but we aren’t buying the idea that 100 posts on TRant about how the sky is falling because of rampant assumptions which may or may not be true is really making a difference up top.

While I like the idea that the Admin might actually listen to the fan base, I seriously doubt that they are browsing TRant and making decisions accordingly. That’s why I think melting on an online community forum is a bad thing. It causes uneasiness among the fan base, mistrust toward the coaching staff, and, potentially, a lack of morale among the players and potential recruits. I don’t think the Admins surf message boards, but I do think players and recruits might. To me, the bad of melting outweighs the good.

But maybe I’m wrong. It could just be that I’m absolutely sick of all the negativity.

Fair enough.

I just think what some call “melting” here, maybe not to the extreme we see, does let people know how the majority feels. And it got me, and maybe a few others to send emails.

Maybe it doesn’t do a damn thing, but I tell you what 100% doesn’t do a damn thing is blindly following and trusting morons like Alleva

It’s really not that interesting of a conversation it just got blown out of proportion by the people here that are so anti any type of criticism that they are just as aggravating as the people who over react

I hear you, but, to be fair, there have been a ton more melts than anti-melts. A TON

Ur probably right. I think there are cases where they aren’t warranted... Aranda

And cases where they are warranted... Ensminger

Literallly every media, sports analyst, radio show will shite all over an Ensminger hire. It’s not crazy for fans here to do the same

True, but who likes to shite for 10 straight days? 5 million posts about Ensminger before the hire has been announced feels like overkill. Enough already. At this point, if it happens, it happens.

Yea. It’s definitely starting to chill out. There were way more Ensminger posts earlier. That’s how these things go, people freak out then it slowly goes away onto the next thing

All the dumbasses here trying to act like people are different here is crazy. This is typical human nature
