They grew 61% in one year on donations. That’s not sustainable if Jimbo doesn’t bring instant success. The previous year the totals would have been much closer. Everyone acting like A&M has so many more rich grads, but 5 years ago LSU would have been significantly outearning A&M based on the 5 year growth average.
LSU has had no need of leading massive donation drives. A&M probably needs it to even have a chance to compete with UT and LSU and Oklahoma and Alabama for recruits in their own backyard, Houston. A&M doesn’t get a single 4 star recruit for free; LSU gets its pick of the litter in LA for practically $0 spent in comparison

LSU looks good there, but whatever you do don’t google their endowments.

No need to Google.
aTm endowment—almost 10 billion
LSU endowment—700 million
aTm is also one of the best academic public schools in the nation.
Lol at these Walmart LSU fans calling aTm “little brother.”
In the things that really matter, LSU is aTm’s little bitch.

I think what you’re saying, Chicken, is that scores are the numbers that matter.
Also the number 7 comes to mind for some reason.

No dispute. I see it first hand everday, that Aggie ring is an instant network.
correct, my GF went to Tech, whole family of Ags.. her Brother got laid off had job next day because of that damn ring.. Its like a damn cult or something, but they take care of their own that's for damn sure.. Their alum have a shite ton of money, I honestly dont see how they cant become a juggernaut.. they have great facilities, excellent support, tons of money, they are missing one piece, and they are about to pay to get it... albeit, what many dont know about recruiting Texas, Texas kids are waaaay softer than LA kids, many pre-madonnas over here. It caught up to Mack Brown because thats all he recruited.. Been here 12 years... Texas is kinda like that big bully that if you go hit'em in the mouth and they know you can kick their arse, they become your best friend. its weird..

Pocket change for them.

So, which program is getting the most for its money?

I could care less about us getting the most for our money vs. another school. I want to see us win a championship. I don’t know another coach who was realistically available that gives us a better shot

OP was about athletic revenue.
Last time I checked endowment for education does not fund athletics. No doubt Aggies are much stronger academically across the board.
This is about football.
Anyone care to debate the strength and financial success of our athletics against A&M?
All this talk about money by the Aggies is because of being in UT's shadow for so long...they want to be respected before earning it on the field.

You “could” care less, or “couldn’t” care less???? I don’t really care either way. Your post is funny as shite regardless.

Who cares and what does this have to do with the OP? Go post this on the academics board (that doesn’t exist). We talking athletics here, nerd.

I don't think I've ever read a single post that you've made where I didn't want to bitch slap you. Seriously.
LSU is one of the best academic public schools in the nation.
Yay, conjecture.
You mean yourself included, right?

Bingo..their money is from a big capital campaign..not dedicated or proven year over year.
Only part of that money is attributable to the capital campaign (around $20 million) which will be winding down. The rest is mostly due to annual seat donations which will continue. So, while that money may appear in the donation column, its actually football revenue.

Part of that growth is the capital campaign, which I addressed in another reply, but most of it is due to the signifcant increase in premium seating. 50 yard line club seats require a $4,000 annual donation per seat on top of the price of the ticket. Suites require huge annual donations. Those revenue streams are not temporary. We didn't spend $450 million renovating the stadium in order to maintain the same revenue stream.
