Daronte was good for Bama game and closed out season pretty strong. However still not a solid guy and no strong DC experience anywhere.

People were happy with House until the season started. I think getting rid of Cain was his downfall.

Blake Baker is WAAY above that

I still can't believe lsu hired an old bo pelini.

Baker is a good coach. Players love him and will play hard. Great recruiter too.

I'm more hopeful that we can win the Blake Baker sweepstakes

If he decides to go home to Louisiana, I can't blame him. Y'all will be getting a good one if so.

He rebounded quite well after not being retained at LSU. Right back to the Vikings and then got promoted.

Minnesota Vikings (2020)
Defensive backs coach
LSU (2021)
Defensive coordinator
Minnesota Vikings (2022)
Defensive backs coach
Minnesota Vikings (2023–present)

Should be an upgrade in every department, but especially excited about his recruiting. And the work he did with Damone speaks for itself.

We know the defensive analysts were very involved in the back end of the season with all the blitz packages but I’ve wondered if maybe Baker had some quasi-co DC duties on the field. He was more qualified to be the DC than Daronte. That said i liked how Daronte was developing and we’d have at least made it to Atlanta with someone like him actually trying different things unlike House basically spreading em for the opponent.

I know a new coach can't keep a bunch of assistants off a team with a losing record, but that defensive staff was way better than the one he hired. Baker, Jones, Andre Carter, Raymond and then Greg McMahon on special teams.

If that staff would've been kept in-tact, LSU would likely be in the playoffs this year.
