Auburn can't even hire a coach away from ULL

I'd imagine the founder of both Rivals.com and 247sports.com has some pretty good sources.

He’s looking for that perfect spot, he better be careful tho, plenty of coaches have missed their window of opportunity and never got that big chance because of it

Auburn didn't want to give him control to hire his own staff. frick going into that situation. It's set up to fail.

Never had the program at these heights and never had a process like Billy has.

Seems like Auburn wouldn’t allow him to bring his entire ULL staff

Hud built those 9-4 teams on getting lucky with QBs and filling the roster with players on the precipice of prison. Napier's success is much more real.

If you hire a head coach and you don't want to allow him to be a head coach, you're setting up the man for failure.

Everyone keeps calling him weird, crazy etc...dude just wants to have control of his program in a good situation and is not going to settle for less.

Auburn job was already 50/50 for him imo due to being in the same state as Saban with less resources. Throw in the fact that they have boosters all up in shite...thats a no go for him. He can be choosey and will only take the perfect job.

He and Coach Napier couldn't be farther apart in the way they operate.

Unfortunately, that has caused some of the Lafayette "elite" who were all over Hud's nuts wanting to be seen at games from giving Coach Napier the same financial and public support. He's too "boring".

Frick all that noise. He's meticulous and studies every situation. He's not a meathead throwing swinger parties in River Ranch.

Shut it, damn it

Honestly think we will clean house in the AD, and fire any coaches with knowledge. Prolly end up losing will wade when all said and done and football program will be fine. Prolly except what we have done already plus another 5 scholarships the next year.

Meaning they wanted him to probably keep Steele as his DC.

Yeah frick all of that if it's true. He made the right decision staying at ULL if Auburn wouldn't let him hire his own guys
