Jim Mora Jr. is an idiot!! We need to also stay away from Petrino.

Gruden is the best dicipline players coach of the group. The NFL schemes he would bring would be very nice, and the recruits (and parents) would listen to him since he has something that neither of the 2 nor Saban have.

AND THAT IS A SUPERBOWL RING!!!!

From an entry on the Fox blog after the Carr story:
"have confermation that Mles bought a house in Ann Arbor 2 and a half weeks ago. Just wonder now when the announcement will be made. I think U of M can come up with the money (1.25 mill) to buy him out of the LSU contract and also help with a purchase of a new home from one of the schools greatest local allies."

I am supposed to believe a dude that can't even spell "confirmation"?

I can't tell you how many times I heard that Ara had already bought a house in BR back in the 1970s. Until someone produces a certified copy of the deed, I wouldn't believe it.

If you honestly think Gruden or Del Rio will leave the NFL to coach at LSU, you are an idiot. Both of these guys were born and bred to coach at the NFL level.

(edited: I hope Im wrong, Gruden would be a fricking monster here)

Im not really sure you all realize what kind of an impact this is going to have on our program. This shite could not have happened at a worse time.

Not only is this a MAJOR distraction for our NC run, but there arent many quality candidates that could be an adequate replacement.

Spurrier- longshot at best, hes old and has moved his family to SC.

Petrino- Evidently he's an arrogant a-hole, (this is ok as long as he can recruit)

Tommy T- I actually think he would be a great hire, but hes not going anywhere.

Saban- The meltdown in Bama would be beyond monumental. I think if we showed interest he would jump ship

Croom- He is my favoirte coach outside of Les. With our resources he could be lights out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Les Miles moves on to Michigan, LSU needs to do whatever it takes to lure Bill Cowher out of retirement. He brings everything to the table that either Gruden or Del Rio does (actually more than Del Rio, IMO), and what's more - he's AVAILABLE.

It would probably take Saban-type money to bring him here, but I think we can all agree it would be worth the investment.

I only discussed Gruden because it was in the ESPN article. He would as you say be a monster here. As with the distractions, it is now up the Seniors to take FULL control of the team and the situation with all of the speculation surrounding Miles.

I am sure that Dorsey is rallying the troups, as he said, he didn't come back for his senior season for nothing. This is the defining moments for this great group of players.

The highest paid coach in the Big 10 is around 2.8 million. If Miles wins the NC he will get a raise to around 4 million. I don't know if Michigan will go that high, not that they can't afford it but because they don't want to.

"You asked how much that place, and coach Schembechler meant to me, and maybe this will help you understand," he said, leading me to his office.

A small collection of rings and trophies and mementos from Les Miles' career as a player and coach at Michigan, and coaching stops at Colorado, Oklahoma State, the Dallas Cowboys and LSU, were tastefully displayed on a book case.

But Miles headed directly for a few framed photographs, a series really. They were nothing special on the surface, not a celebration, just men with their arms around each other, smiling, with Michigan coach Bo Schembechler.

"This was the night before the Rose Bowl, at the hotel, Bo's last game," Miles said. "We stayed up late. I love that man. I love that university. It's a special place."

Everything I've done, personally or professionally, is in some way due to Michigan, Miles had said earlier that July evening.

This is from Jim Carty written for the Ann Arbor News on November 18. Carty quotes Miles from an interview he did with him in Baton Rouge in July. Carty suggests that Miles dream job is Michigan and that Michigan's dream coach is Miles.

Are you sure on this, I thought he would be paid the average of the 3 highest paid coaches.

You know, Miles has proven to be someone who is a nonconformist, at least fairly unpredictable. Having said that it wouldn't be all that far fetched for him to just decide that he will stay right here? Conventional wisdon would tell us that he is a Michigan man and that his heart is there. But the words "conventional wisdom" and Miles are not always used in the same sentence! Here's hoping.

I really don't believe this...I think he is taking a break for a while...Cowher won't be a candidate for the LSU job.
