He mostly let others coach. When Les' coaching hires left, O floundered. He is not head coach material, but he is a great recruiter and a decent D-line coach
Coach O HIRED Brady as OC. He recruited Joe Burrow, who was going to Cincinnati.
O's personal shortcomings have been corrected, just like LK's have as well.
O know's he screwed up but has moved forward and has real value as a coach and recruiter.

Oh Ole Miss….sitting in the corner watching two exes move on separately and then come together for the time of their life. Gotta sting a little.
I'm sure most Ole Miss fans would prefer not lose Kiffin, but O is their used toilet paper. I doubt any care where he goes.
It's sad to see how many LSU fans want this talentless, lying grifter back near the stadium much less on staff.

Shout it a little louder so the FB Karen’s and the “he talks like us” Coonasses can all hear you.
No to O

Brady was not the OC, and he hired whom a couple of other people told him to hire in that instance.

Never doubted his recruiting acumen.

His personal shortcomings added to the problem but they were not the root of his issues.

I don't think anyone is questioning his recruiting, and few doubt he is a capable position coach, He may end up at DC but I hope he does not.

Bill Busch deserves just as much credit as O for getting Burrow.

Coach O HIRED Brady as OC.
He may have hired him, but he didn't FIND him

but he is a great recruiter

That's my take. I would like Kyle Williams to stay, but I am not sure if that will happen, and particularly if they make O the D-line coach, unless they split it even more to an overall D-line coach, plus an interior D-line coach, and an Edge Rusher coach. I don't know that I have ever seen that, but I think they can have as many coaches as they want now.

I still love Coach O despite him putting us in bad shape after 2019. Nobody can ever take 2019 away and I just like Coach O in general so whatever. I'd be happy to have him back as a DL coach.

I’m guessing there is a binder somewhere hidden in this pic.

Many wanted LSU to re-hire O.

Everybody is talking about these anonymous ‘big money donors’ from ‘out-of-state’ lol. They say that and then put whatever their personal opinion is after it.

Can tell you that this is incorrect. Not a fact. No one and I mean no big donors wanted him rehired.
The sentiment is actually the opposite. Most don’t even want O on LKs staff. If it was going to be a deal breaker, then they’d concede that to Lane if he really wants.
All of you wanting him on this staff will be disappointed. I know there was a story someone put out there about O calling his BR trainer/ therapist which likely did happen but that’s O putting the cart before the horse. Yes, he and LK are close but he hasn’t reached out to him about a position on the staff. This was O trying to get a couple stories out there to spin up some goodwill and pressure on the board if LK did want him.
And to be completely objective, I love O as a recruiting coordinator and DL coach but he burned LSU bad. Yes, greatest season ever but when he got more control, everything crumbled. He always wanted an “attacking 4-3 defense” and got it when DA left. DAs stint at Baylor has been pretty bad but Aranda kept that coaching staff motivated. He was a great example of a hardworking coach. Ensminger and Brady worked their asses off too. O deserves a ton of credit for letting those guys do their thing.
The sour taste from how he left the team still lingers. Those relationships have not mended yet.

I just had the thought for one second why wouldn’t lane have just hired him on his staff there and then I remembered history and stuff.
