Going to be interesting to see contracts duration, salaries,, and especially buyout amounts when information becomes available. Many are wanting performance based contracts, but I doubt any coach or agent will allow such a thing.

The #Giants are firing coach Brian Daboll, sources say. A promising and frustrating season leads NYG to have an opening.

A G5 or coordinator moving up to the big time won't have as much leverage.

Have to make that performance number a lotto ticket.
Base $5mm guaranteed;
8-4 gets you to $8mm; SEC and National Championship get's you $15-$20mm.
Not going to work for a P4 coach already making $8-10mm but jumping from a coordinator or G5 salary to that could be a massive windfall.

So, looking at the CC board, LSU is the only school looking for a coach? Impressive.

The issue at hand now is to hire the best coach. Not another relic looking for a swan song contract.
That guy is Alex Golesh, if they admin will just pay attention.
Strengths That Make Him a Possible LSU HC Candidate
Offensive Innovation
Golesh has proven he can run a highly efficient, modern offense. At Tennessee, his unit was among the national leaders in scoring and yards per game.
University of Tennessee Athletics
That kind of offensive firepower could be attractive for a high-profile school like LSU, which often competes on both sides of the ball.
Recruiting Ability
He’s got a strong recruiting background — he’s worked as a recruiting coordinator, and at USF he has emphasized recruiting local talent.
WUSF
If LSU wants to lean into recruiting-driven coaching hires, that’s a plus.
Youth + Upside
He’s relatively young (born in 1984)
University of Tennessee Athletics
— that gives him room to grow, and hiring him could be a long-term bet.
Proven Turnaround Capability
He has experience turning programs or units around (both as an assistant and as a head coach). That kind of turnaround resume is attractive when a school is looking to re-build or re-brand.
Work Ethic / Character
In interviews, he talks about servant leadership, work ethic, and building a standard for every phase of the program.
Exactly what LSU needs without spending a fortune. He and Baker would be just what LSU needs going forward.

If tenn fires their coach, my bet is that Alex Golesh will be hired there immediately. He was their last great OC and my guess is that Tenn hasn't forgotten that.
I wish LSU would wake up to Golesh.....just once this decade make the smart football hire.
