I don't think anything is set in stone either way. TD has a tendency to run with a rumor. When I went back to read Unlucky tigers post is that he thinks Jimbo fell through, so he is just guessing, but everyone here thinks it is final.

They didn't have to play any games. Just tell us the demands because it was getting paid.

Generally, I agree but you think alleva was gonna play hard ball with sexton? He owned us from the beginning.

The rumor wasn't just, "Jimbo fell through."

It was, "Jimbo fell through, Miles is staying with a new OC and something is going to come out that will hurt the program for a long time in the future."

I'll admit that I'm getting a bit swept up in this noise at the moment.

Agree. The bad move here would be crawling back to miles.

but I would think Scott is a pretty weak source.

just relaying what he said. i by no means am claiming him as a secret source. not at all. The only source i ever had was on another board. an ex LSu player. I don't belong to that board anymore. so who knows how this shakes out. hope for the best.

#1- I won't believe anything else about possible coaches until Miles is officially gone

#2- Why the frick would you pay Jimbo that much money?? Up it a few million more and go after the true big fish, Saban.

No, I'm just saying I'm told that there is nothing that will be official until the regular season is played out. So now, there is this period of reaching a gentleman's agreement but not official. Then, coming back and saying...."well, FSU has now upped the ante.....". Then, it becomes a game of chicken.

And there are back up plans, but LSU has been all in on Jimbo. And now it's just a matter of how high the price can be driven up. But supposedly, it will get done.

Again, just hearsay from a buddy that is connected to TAF, like thousands of other TAF dudes.

Well maybe that is why the talks possibly stalled and the fact that Chip Kelley could be available cheaper.

Well, that's absurd.

Nothing is ever 'official' until papers get signed, and even then, most contracts have a 30-90 day period where the deal can be voided.

The timing and suddenness of "Miles is DONE" talk made me think the actual target was Chip Kelly. Miles being suddenly finished coincided nicely with Kelly's team in Philadelphia falling apart at the seams.

Now that the insistent, "Jimbaw / Jimbeaux" talk is evaporating, I'm thinking Kelly is the actual target... or Miles is staying, or something else is about to happen that's even crazier than all that.
