This season may be the kick in the face Les needs in order to open up the offense

even into the 2nd half on 1/9/12 i had faith that we could win that game. we just needed that one turnover

i thought it would be karma for saban coaching like such a pussy and it would get an amazing foil for his arrogance that game

but nope. saban's arrogance was well founded and we got demolished

was 2010 not a kick in the face? 2014? what makes you think this year will be different?

Yeah and this may be the year I stop eating like a jackass and get a six pack

This is the delusion we fall into every year with Miles. It's stale, it's redundant.

Well at some point things will change... 2011 was a great season so if this year is equal to 2010 then I will take next year.

even if we got a new OC, i doubt you can change the culture with all the other coaches staying in place. that's the problem; it's entrenched

i doubt grimes, wilson, ensminger, etc will be able to change tehir own spots with les overseeing it all

that's just not the type of team and culture miles has built and it's not the type of guy les is. also 08-10 were when we tried to do new things and it almost got miles fired. that's why it's been "shut down" for 5 years now. that's a tough mountain to climb for any entrenched coaching staff

1-9-12 happened and we go and plug mett into the Les Miles offense and don't really let it fly until bama that year.

Things change even if Les stays...
Steele I think gets reassigned
Coach O wants a HC job bad and will take one
New OC coach will be someone young this time
BDP is let go a second time

2011 was a great season

ignoring 1/9/12, 2011 was like 5-6 plays away from being another 3-loss team

we just had a bunch of outlier plays continuously happen at the right time in our big games in 2011

you can't rely on that sort of shite

little things that are forgotten, like mo claiborne's KO return for a TD against WV when they were getting momentum and starting to roll, or the punt returns against UGA when we looked like total shite. hell eric reid made an all-time historic play against Bama that we likely won't ever see again in our lifetimes

2011 was a crazy ride but waiting for the stars to align over 13 games again is impossible and not sustainable

Les has had many kicks in the face regarding his offense, but the lights are still dim.

That is almost every national title team... you go and remove a couple of plays from their season and they become a 2 or 3 loss team.
Teams need luck and the right bounces a couple of times a season in order to reach that point. When was the last time a team straight railroaded to the Nation Championship with a scare or lucky bounce?

its a misnomer the offense shite the bed for the first time on 1/9.

The signs of its decline began against Ark and UGA, the final scores don't indicate it but signs of it being figured out were there.

most of those 2011 "outlier" plays occurred after JJ took over the offense, which coincidentally went to shite as soon as he took it over. another brilliant offensive call from Les.
