You make a good point, but this works both ways to a certain extent.
Suppose SW waits on Riley throughout the playoffs and he says no, then SW turns to the backup plans—whom I’m sure he’s been communicating with all that time.
Those plan b guys are thinking: “This is the LSU job. This is likely my only shot at it. I’d better take it now.”
If Scott pursues Riley into January, it’s because he knows he’s got a Tucker, Aranda, or Napier waiting in the wings who will make the jump, January or not.

Holy shite!! I think they should have a quiz about buyouts to post on the coaching changes board and write about about coaching changes in the media.
That $25 million buyout is the remainder of his contract if Oklahoma fires him
He has a $10 million buyout if he leaves on his own
Every coach has 2 buyouts except Jimbo because he has a $0 buyout if he leaves

You read more than I did between those lines. First off, for those who are disappointed that certain people were not mentioned, Ross mentioned no one. He simply spoke about the candidates that Jacques asked about. He gave very little as far as his opinion about their chances, but simply stated some facts about each coach.
