I hear that Dick isn't worried about stuffing the crimson tide, and his history is solid with plugging the spread. He's been aggressively penetrating professionals and looks forward to tightening up on amateurs. There isn't a single slippery O where Dick hasn't produced in the past. On Dick's worst days it's more of a bend but don't break scenario, and on his best days Dick is hard to bring down.

FWIW, LeBeau has zero college coaching experience from what I can tell, having been in the NFL as a player and coach since 1959. That fact alone seemingly makes this VERY unlikely hire even less likely. As a point of only passing interest, LeBeau played on the 1957 Ohio State Buckeye team that won the National Championship. Obviously, that was the year before LSU's 1958 NC. On a mildly interesting point with absolutely no relation, Ohio State played 10 total games in 1957 (including the Rose Bowl), but only 3 of their 9 regular season games were "away." They played the same 6 home / 3 away schedule 1953 through 1959. By contrast, LSU played between 4 and 5 away games each season during this same period.
Back to the matter at-hand, and speaking strictly as a wishcast, it occurs to me that IF he were going to coach in the NCAA, he would want to do it at the highest possible level--something the SEC west can certainly offer. LSU is going to field a particularly competitive defensive unit in 2015, and if the money is right, who knows? Maybe The Hat can pull this 24 carat rabbit out of his ample headgear.
The timing and phraseology of LeBeau's announcement could certainly be interpreted favorably.
