Stoops is a perfect name for him to throw out there to find a leak

I've been as big a Petersen-pusher as anyone on this board but it's hard to see what the hold-up is at this point. Why hasn't that deal already been signed and announced? I'm still hoping for it, though.
That way he is off the radar to have discussions with those future staff members now- instead of in Dec. and Jan.
That way when he is announced, presumably with coordinators, it is a big "hit the ground running" recruiting advantage by having the components in place simultaneously prior to the Dec. signing day.
If he was named now, Orgeron would have to exit, and he has to "register" with the NCAA. That means he's busy coaching while still trying to put the staff in place. You can only have 10 coaches, period.

Yea, no. If it was Petersen, it would already have been announced.

Since my first thread on here. I have said Woodward is looking at 4 candidates. The only difference is Franklin is out and Aranda is in. Riley Dabo Napier Aranda
Napier is not a realistic candidate for the job. The fact he is even mentioned is due to a propaganda campaign emanating out of Tuscaloosa. there are some boosters who have fallen for the ruse.
the majority of folks with influence realize it would be a failure of massive proportions to wind up with Napier. Most fans do as well, just tired of dealing with all the trolls

Aranda is a damn fine coach he should’ve always been top 4. Texas mistake was not hiring him. IMO

All I know is I am friends with an agent who reps FBS HCs and there is no way in hell he'd ever tell me Jack shite so I don't even ask

If Scott Woodward has a signed contract in hand, there is no rush to make an announcement. The appropriate thing to do is let the season end and then make the announcement. Scott threw us all a curve with the Johnson hire and I just have a feeling that he may do it again with Coach Petersen.

That makes no sense with ESD.

Don't think Vol is lying about Riley though. Not sure about Jimbo but I'd imagine he's in the same boat as Riley. They've given Riley everything he wants to come here and they keep upping the price. He's using LSU for a raise at this point so they're not going to waste time continuing to push him. He's either coming or he's not with what they're offering so he better get on the ship now if he wants in.
